Solid iPad but poor (and pointless) upgrade.I like iPads, and I like this one, but this is such a minor upgrade, no new screen, the M1 chip is cool but pointless, there are 0 apps or tasks on iPad that will take full advantage of this, NONE.I would love to see apple bringing some heavy apps to the iPad, that will actually take advantage of 16 (!) gigs of RAM and the M1 chip, or at least make iPadOS more powerful, better multitasking and resizable windows, I will edit this review accordingly!

Excellent iPad but not worth an upgrade if you already have 2020 iPad Pro.It is the fastest and the lightest iPad Pro. Looks excellent. The camera is the best part especially the front camera with center stage. The display is good with 120Hz refresh rate. However it’s not worth an upgrade if you already have iPad Pro 2020 model until Apple announces something which will take advantage of the M1 chip set. I wish 11 inch model had the same liquid retina XDR display like the 12.9 inch model. The battery life is excellent provided with a 20W charger. Everything else is good.

Picture Quality So Questionable I Wonder If They Lied About SpecsI’m giving this a three star rating because if you haven’t had an iPad to compare it to, you’d probably find it a major upgrade from a generic $60 tablet. You might even find it an upgrade over a $100 tablet. But if you’ve owned the regular iPad, you’re going to be sorely disappointed.(1)The screen is a lint magnet. You’ll need to clean it every hour if you intend on long stretches of reading.(2) Plan to spend the rest of your life charging it. If you’re a big reader, it’s not functional for a 5 hour reading session. They claim the battery life is 13 hours, but I call bull on this. Six hours is a stretch. While it’s possible I got a defective tablet, I doubt it. Videos especially drain it, about 20% every hour.(3) The picture quality. My God, the picture/video quality. I had the 2020 iPad 10.2-inch. So I was expecting a major upgrade over this. It wasn’t. It’s a downgrade. In fact, it’s so questionable I believe Apple outright lied about the 4K video and/or pixels on the camera. Once again, it’s possible I got a defective iPad Pro 11″, but I doubt it.Those are three major flaws that will make this my last iPad Pro. It’s not an upgrade over the regular 10.2″ iPad. The top and bottom bezels are a little smaller and it’s definitely thinner, but I enjoyed the picture quality on the regular iPad more. The thickness of the tablet seemed to give depth to the pictures. I read a lot of online comics, and those comics looked better on the regular iPad than they do the Pro, which was a shock.I’ve never had an iPad air. I skipped it and went straight to this one. I got the 11″ because I’m not very strong and believed the 12.9″ would be too laptop like and heavy. I already have a laptop, so I was going for portability. I do like the 11″‘s thinness, style, and look. It’s beautiful, especially when it’s in the Smart Folio. As for performance, picture, and video quality: The regular 2020 10.2″ iPad is just as good, and I’m not saying that because I have a vendetta against Apple (although I do resent them calling this a “pro” anything. Not even close). This tablet is just as good – and bad – as the regular iPad, and they’ve hiked the price up $400 for no reason. I don’t care what they’re calling the tech in this iPad. It actually boots up in about the same time as the regular iPad, and even if it didn’t, I liked the picture on the regular iPad just as much. This is not worth the money or even close.

Great iPadPros:Fast and will be for many yearsHigh quality, feels, and looks niceSpeakers are really goodFace IDCons:For some, 128 GB may not be enough. If you are a heavy user, get the 256.It’s expensiveIf you’re looking at this versus the Air, it really depends on what you need for storage. If you primarily want to use your iPad for streaming media or looking up things and don’t really need a whole lot of storage, get the Air with 64 GB. If you need more than 64 GB and don’t need 256 then go with this model. If you do need 256 then you need to weigh the differences and figure out if the pro upgrade is worth $150 to you.

Awesome iPad!I’m a fairly new tablet user. I’ve only used one other iPad besides this but I’m in love with it! I mostly use it for procreate, the new M1 chip and refresh rate makes drawing feel nice and smooth, even more so with a matte screen protector.

  6. Lance

Best tablet in the world! This tablet is amazing! So incredibly fast! I love the Apple pencil and the magic keyboard is a must! If you’re in the market for a great iPad I recommend either the iPad air 4 or this one, don’t get 2018/2020 iPad pro, they’re considerably slower with an A12 based chip. This one will last a lot longer though having at least 8GB RAM in the base model. Seriously if you want the best fastest tablet ever get this, you definitely get what you pay for in the base model ($799). I needed the 120hz for drawing with the pencil, the input lag is so much better over the iPad air 4.

Best tablet money can buyAmazing tablet. Love the 120hz screen, as well as the power and efficiency of the m1 chip. Because of the new chip, battery life is nuts on the 11in model, although for most use cases the power is overkill. But, that will just ensure the device remains usable for years to come. Perfect tablet, and I’d recommend it to everyone if the base model wasn’t so expensive.

Be ware of the misleading descriptionMost recent model is 5th generation iPad Pro in 2021. However what I received is 3rd generation (not even 4th)! What a huge disappointment. Description says 2021 iPad…. And it is carefully designed scheme to deceive customers into buying old model while price difference is not clear or non-existent

Apple will not assist with replacing a damaged item unless you buy the Apple Care Plan. This item arrived defective. Apple would not replace the item because I did not buy the Care Plan. I was shocked. Apple has certainly changed how it views its customers.

Brand new ipad pro 2021 with dead pixel on arrivalVery disappointed. Was eager to get my ipad pro but then i saw a dead pixel on the screen. contacted amazon support and asked me to “massage” the screen. offered me 10% compensation which is 70$ for the trouble of returning. also, amazon cannot exchange for a new one. dont know why. apparently because of the high price value. in the end, i returned it. note that if there is a dead pixel, there is a high probability that there will be more dead pixels in the future.
