I love it! only recomendation i have to someone buying …I have run this now for a month and still dont have a single issue with it. I love it! only recomendation i have to someone buying this, wipe it down with a dry cloth and let the oil keep the metal protected. DO NOT WASH DOWN WITH WATER, or it will rust. Just some paper towels does the trick. Its a nice addition to the bar!

Buying a 2nd oneI bought this popcorn maker in 05/2007 on amazon and paid more back then. It has now travelled to Europe and is on a transformer. 10 years old and still running great. I cannot believe it. We have used it at least once a week for 10 years, plus we make 3-5 batches at a time. I carefully clean the kettle inside (Do NOT get the element plug wet at all), and wipe down the glass after the popcorn is gone. When we first got it one of the plastic doors had a crack. It was replaced by seller for free.In the move 5 years ago (horrible movers), they jostled it and one side separated. I was able to get it all back in again and is still working. So, after 5 years on a transformer (always buy one that is higher wattage than the START UP wattage of your product) and many pops later, it still runs great.I saw a complaint about the top after popping. If there is a lot of condensation it can cause issues with the top. Mine has a wide gap at the top to let steam out and I use real popping oil and 12lb bags of popcorn from Gold Medal (vs. The pre measured oil and popcorn packets), so that might help.I am buying one for my son as part of his graduation gift (along with a Nutri Ninja, which we also Love!)Update 12/2/19: the 6010 8oz version we just got is not nearly as good as the original. The inner top has rusted (just like others have mentioned). Also the doors and pull out tray are sloppy quality. So the new one only gets 2 stars. We are looking at getting a 12 oz.

The perfect popcorn machine ..The media could not be loaded.

Ordered on Wednesday evening (researching and indecisive) for a Saturday kid party … AMAZON was amazing. Promised on Saturday so was worried about timing of delivery.. it actually arrived on Friday. Set up easy and worked perfectly. 28 bags popped by using five 8 ounce packets. Popped very quickly with no problems. Read others reviews for tips.

Not worth itWe do backyard movie nights all summer long so I bought this to add to the fun. The first one arrived but was bent on the bottom so I made an exchange. Amazon was great to work with. The replacement arrived today just in time for our first movie night if the season. On The 3rd batch, the stir stick stopped stirring and the popcorn was jam packed into the kettle causing what was on the bottom to burn. I had to use a wooden spoon to get the popped corn out of the kettle…many wasted kernels too. I had high hopes that have been dashed. I made sure I followed the directions. So, this machine will be going back. I will now look at buying one similar to what I use at PTA events, shame because it is more than double the price of this one but I have been using that one for 6 years with out a single issue.

18 Month Review: THE GOOD: Glass Doors, Rust Free inner top / THE BAD: heating unit was useless! We run a rental business and decided to give this model a try after seeing it on Amazon. This is the only unit we’ve ever purchased that came with glass doors. The plastic doors on all of our other units are junk and typically crack / break and are worthless in no time and the subsequent replacement process is difficult at best. So we were instantly very happy with this aspect of the purchase. Be aware that the glass doors do add weight to the unit making it slightly more cumbersome to handle.Another pet peave of ours is that the inside tops of most of the machines we’ve used in the past start to break down quickly and so far the inside top of this unit has held up nicely with no degradation.Unfortunately this order showed up with a popper that was absolutely useless! The rotating spindle mechanism was poorly made, combined with not setting properly in the rotating groove! So inside the heating unit the spinner would get stuck and the popcorn would jam and ultimately burn. The vital parts used on the heating popper were cheap and overall it was poorly constructed, including razor sharp edges on the flaps over the vent where the popcorn exits the popper. The first rental with this machine was a disaster, the family’s party was ruined with partially popped kernels and unpopped kernels with a pungent burned popcorn smell permeating the party! It was a complete waste of their time and a loss of our money as we had to return their order fee.The door jam metal piece that holds the popcorn in while you load up the bags was also sharp and ill fitting, as it the metal catch tray below, which looks like a reject machine folded the metal together in a hurry with little concern for safety. The inside bottom also is ill fitting so that popcorn parts and kernels easily fall off to the sides, making cleaning this unit much more of a process than it should be, as to properly remove these food pieces requires dismantling the unit to pull the base out!Luckily we were able to use an old popper from another company that (barely) fit the grooves correctly. This popper worked flawlessly, and comparing the two side by side the construction shortcuts taken on the Roosevelt machine were glaringly obvious.I am only giving this 2 stars because of the glass doors and the durability of the inside top surface and hope they can improve the popper construction and produce safer edges on the sharp metal sections. However for our next purchase I will look for another company that provides glass doors and hope for better quality parts than this unit had. We were very disappointed from the get go with the worthless quality of the popper and will not be ordering this machine again.(5 stars for assembly only because it arrives completely assembled)

Liar liar pants on fire!!!!I purchased this one because the description claimed it popped “roughly 3 gallons of popcorn at a time.” That is a bald faced lie. It pops MAYBE a gallon and a half. Came damaged, but fixable. Doors don’t line up. Not worth the money. The good:It does a good job of popping the popcorn. Tastes great. Easy to use.The bad:The box showed signs of abuse. When I opened it, the tray that falls out to hold the popped, was completely bent. Luckily the metal is thin enough that I was able to bend it back into shape. The review claims that it will pop 3 gallons of popcorn. I popped 4 different batches. The MOST I was able to get out was 6 quarts. If you put in 3/4 of a cup of kernels, almost a full 1/4 cup is pushed out as the corn pops. When you put in 2/3c of kernels, you waste about 2 tablespoons, or 1/8 of a cup. The machine might HOLD 3 gallons, but it does not POP 3 gallons at a time. If I had known this, I would have gone back to the smaller machine and purchased 2 of them for 1/2 the cost. It took longer to pop 3 gallons of popcorn with this machine, with twice the waste, as with 1 small popcorn popper making 2 batches with little to no wasted kernels. If you want a cool looking machine for home, it’s fantastic. Lots of fun to watch the corn pop. It works well, lots of yummy smells from it… Just not good for what I needed.Update: popping kettle died just under a year from purchase. Moderate use of once or twice a week should not have killed it.

Came dented on the outside. Attributed to shipping but …Came dented on the outside. Attributed to shipping but the box was not dented so this had to have happened in China during manufacturing. The inside components are also poorly put together. I can not slide the maids drawer into the machine as the side panels are bent inwards, again poorly manufactured. If I didn’t need this thing today for an expo event I would send it back and not request a new one, but would look elsewhere.

Your loss is my gain. This is truly a 5* Popcorn Maker, I got it as a return for almost 50% off because the bottom area where the reject kernel tray sits was slightly bent. The metal used for the floor and the supports underneath are made from thin metal which bends pretty easily with a small amount of intentional force. The metal is thin to allow for proper heat transfer to keep the popcorn warm. So it took me 3 minutes to find a pair of pliers and 10 seconds to straighten things back up, the reject kernel tray now slides in and out as it’s supposed to and there is no visible damage.Everything that was supposed to be there was included, most of which had never even been opened, assembly was quick and easy, the kettle heats up fast and the stirrer performs superbly buying you enough time to decide if popping has stopped without burning what’s left in the kettle.I highly recommend these Great Northern popcorn makers.

Good features for priceI bought this based on the features it has for the price I wanted to spend. I’ll update the review if needed.Overall I’d say this is a good home theater machine modeled after a commercial version. But I would not recommend it for everyday heavy use, it won’t hold up. I spent 20 years in USAF fighter squadrons and I’ve seen my share of popcorn machines in the bar, so I knew what i wanted. This machine has a seperate switch for warmer, stirrer, and kettle heat. An old maid tray, and glass doors. All good features, plexiglass doors will spider crack over time from cooking oil.The stainless steel on this machine is very thin low grade. The bottom of my machine was bent in from shipping and I couldn’t put the old maid tray in. I was able to fix it by removing two screws and the inside floor comes out for cleaning, I then bent the sheet metal/stainless steel back straight. And tray slides in.The machine came with a good sized scoop, plastic cups and paper bags. It also has spring loaded locks to attach to cart if you get the cart. I don’t currently need a cart.Bottom line: I think it will be great for weekly use. But if you plan to use it all day everyday I recommend you by a commercial machine.

Little DissapointedBought this because I am forever in search of “movie theater” popcorn! I had got pretty close with an electric popper, but thought this would take it to the next level. Unfortunately it is actually a step backwards. For one, it is difficult to load the oil and corn in ( I only use premeasured popcorn packs with the oil and corn and seasoning, such as great northern or snappy) because there is not much room between the kettle and the top of the popper. It is a squeeze and is especially tricky if the kettle is already heated, so I basically put the oil in then heat it, then put in the corn. Second, the lid for the popper is so light as it starts to pop it blows both lids fully open and the unpopped corn starts flying out before it can pop. I had to modify mine so they will at least not stick in the open position but its still not great. Third even though it has a heated warming deck and bulb, the popcorn is not really hot once its popped unless you leave it in the popper with the light/heat on for quite some time. This is probably the biggest downfall because if it is not hot it tends to be not as crisp. I will keep trying different techniques and brands but overall my $20 electric popper made better, hotter crisper more movie like popcorn. On the plus side it is a very well built machine, very solid and it is very easy to clean. Looks nice too!
