I really like it.Having always used “Windows”, and therefore completely new to Chromebook, it is a definate learning curve. I feel hampered as I’ve only ever used Microsoft type computers and being elderly may have slowed my learning speed.I will try to update this review as time goes by.My old laptop was extremely slow and I was looking for something different and speedy.First impressions after having a Chromebook for 1 week:-It is FAST. Pages load really fast!-It was easy to transfer all my data & settings from my old computer, thanks to using Chrome in past years. All my photos are there. The Chromebook shows you how and guides the process.-The keyboard lighting CAN be brightened to improve key visibility. This was one of my big concerns as many reviews mention it. The key were hard to see due to the low lighting at first. I didn’t find a reference to it on the Chromebook at first and needed a quick fix. A search on Google showed me how. I followed the instructions and now I can see the keys very well in normal household lighting.-It is a learning curve to learn the keyboard shortcuts. I am jotting down notes in a notebook.-There is a Chromebook simulator for learning.-It has a easy, sensitive touchscreen.-Screen brightness is easy to adjust.-No detectable heat output.-Battery lasts a long time.-Tablet mode: Open it completely until the two outside surfaces touch and it is completely flat. The touchscreen is quite responsive.- Any questions I have regarding how to use this Chromebook can be easily answered by a quick Google search.- The screen comes on instantly when opening, if I don’t turn the Chromebook off. Navigation icons are at the bottom of the screen.Still learning; will update.

Almost PerfectThis is my first Chromebook, and I love almost everything about it.1. The speed is lightening fast2. It is extremely easy to use. I set it up & played around with it for a couple of hours, and learned a ton about the ins & outs of the Chromebook.3. A big ‘Yay’, on the lack of useless bloatware that is so common on Windows systems.4. The touch screen and mouse pad are both very responsive.5. The screen is crystal clear, and I absolutely LOVE the night time blue light filter. It is so much more pronounced than similar filters on any of my other devices. It really helps with eye strain, and you can use it during the day if you want as well.If I think of any more positives as I use it more, I will add updates. And now, for the one glaring flaw that kept me from giving five stars; The keyboard could be much better, visually. The keys are light, and so are the letters. There is not much contrast at all, so the letters/numbers are really hard to see. Luckily, I’ve been typing for so long that I can get by. But it’d be much easier if I could see the letters without straining!Since I love everything else about it though, I will happily keep it. I am good about updating my reviews, so if I run into any more pros or cons I will be sure to edit this.EDIT: I ended up buying a keyboard skin cover that fits and works perfectly. The item description of the one I got here in Amazon is: Keyboard Cover for ASUS Chromebook Flip C434 2 in 1 Laptop, ASUS C302CA/C423NA/C425TA/C433TA/C434TA-DH342T DSM4T DS384T C523NA Chromebook, ASUS Chromebook Protective Skin, Black

Excellent experience at a great priceAt first, when I read and saw a lot of reviews about this device, I thought that I would buy a device that would meet the purpose, and I did not expect any further increase in any details of the device. On the contrary, I was a little disappointed before the device delivered .But the shock was when I received the device and did the unboxing … At first, I was amazed by the shape of the slim device and its suitable quality for its price, but you may not get the same design quality in Windows laptops at the same price … The screen is very good, the brightness and colors are excellent, and the touch is responsive … The performance of the device and its speed is very good, and it takes seconds to enter the personal account from the shutdown state … The battery lasts 8 hours with the operation of many applications and maximum brightness …. The sound of the headphones is good, not bad… I did not experience any heat in the device except for a very small amount of heat that was not noticed until I carefully checked it… In short, the device is more than wonderful and an excellent choice for a very good price.

Unexpectedly awesome except for 2 detailsAfter reading many reviews I did not expect anything other than a Chromebook. However many of the things that others seem to be critical of are not an issue here….. magnets stick when you close and open into tablet mode. The touch screen works great. The pad works great and the screen is bright. I have reservations because of the many negative reviews. So far so good. I will update you if anything comes up.Update: 7/27/211Backlit keyboard works great too! I think that most people would agree that once you know how to use a chromebook there are few complications. However, I still hate the way the cameras work. Why are they sooooo bad? It seems like this model would at least off a better camera.. ….So I am disappointed about the camera and that I cannot use the blur background in meetings. These seem like small concessions that chromebooks should add. I may actually need to swith to a windows computer because of this issue. Who wants to see my unmade bed during a zoom or teams meeting? Noone., and nooine should have to worry about such details. le

Good screen, disappointing keyboard and mouseI love ASUS products, so I was really excited to receive this. Unfortunately, I’ve found this chromebook quite buggy and awkward. In no particular order:PROS:1. looks nice; sleek. screen is nice and spacious, pretty.CONS:1. Kind of difficult to open up the notebook.2. The keyboard doesn’t feel that good to use, and I can’t easily find the setting to disable to touchpad while typing. ): Maybe the keyboard is uncomfortable because I have small hands? But that was my experience.3. The touchpad does not feel good to use aaaat aaaaaaall, haha. That’s not that big of a deal since I usually use a bluetooth mouse anyways, but there again, since it only has 1 USB port, you can’t plug in a keyboard and mouse at once.Unrelated, but I was kind of bummed that this chromebook doesn’t qualify for any electronics trade-in programs, so I’m not really even sure how to get rid of it. I’ll have to make that a criteria for buying laptops going forward, haha.

Very much disappointed with dim screen and keyboardSince, I rated low for this ASUS Chromebook C433TA-AS384T, I wanted to go over cons first. The screen brightness, character sharpness, contrast of this Chromebook is really pathetic. I undertand the term, brightness is comparative, but I can say that with any % of brightness, the characters, screen of any webpage appear as if you are reading on a faded, yellowish news paper and not on a new white page. The other way to explain is, this screen resembles 4000K bulb (yellow tone) and not towards 6000K (day light) color temperature. So, in spite of whichever the brightness setting, the characters looks dull without good color, B&W contrast. This is extremely disappointing for $435 Chromebook. In fact the main point for my purchase was, this has FHD 1920×1080 display and expected the screen to be better than my 5 year old Dell 14 inch Inspiron 1366×768 laptop. But, it turned out that the screen readability is much worse. The keyboard really sucks with same grey color like the laptop color and the characters are hardly readable if you have some lighting in the room. This is very much annoying, but is tolerable with keyboard lighting turned off through Alt + Brightness control key. This seems to be a not good design of keyboard. There is a magnet between the lid and base unit which makes it hard to open the screen, but this inconvenience is also tolerable compared to dim screen issue. The pros are certainly it is very fast and has 8GB RAM.

It’s okay but I think ACER models have this beatThis looks like a decent unit, but my first gripe is that keyboard is underwhelming, *not* backlit in any meaningful sense (manual says that it is), and the ACER Chromebook, or the Samsung Chromebook have much more tactile and responsive keys. They also use black keys with white lettering. Inexplicably the 433 uses silver keys with clear/impossible to read letters. The keys are also spaced too close. Go to a real store and try out an ACER keyboard to see what I mean.Next problem, though this applies to any Chromebook: Not all of the “Android” apps will work on a Chromebook. Luckily, there is a handy “How to” Geek’s article for how to install Signal using the Linux tools that come with a Chromebook. But I wanted to use my Chromebook just for financial websites, for security. Can’t use a Yubico 5NFC 2FA authenticator with a Chromebook. Not compatible even though there is a USB-A port you can plug the 5 NFC into.Third problem: On a quick first glance, the outer case looks nice. But then I noticed small scratches and nicks and this was just opened! Either I got used model or this material does not wear well.Overall, I find this Chromebook cramped, it feels cheap, and it’s a let down because my old Windows 8 ASUS Tablet with keyboard was such a pleasant surprise. This was twice the cost and feels worse in every way. I so wished that I had purchased a larger ACER with a nicer keyboard. Really try to check these out in person at a store before buying. That’s my advice.

Not Windows which is greatGot tired from the Windows operating issues (constant updates, anti-virus, slow operation, other), bought this Chrome book, happy with the decision. This is a good product.

Great computer for the priceIf you want a laptop with a nice-sized screen, 360 rotation, and touchscreen it’s a great laptop at a great price. I’ve had mine for 3 months now with no issues. I use it for college and a charge lasts me all day until I get back to my dorm. If I don’t use it much over the weekend say an hour a day then a full charge will last all weekend. The only downside is that the touch screen is capacitive and not active. If you want to write a lot of notes on your laptop and you can spare another hundred or so get the C436 it has an active screen. My notes are really sloppy and it’s not the easiest but it works fine and I only use it in lectures to make annotations on pdfs and then take notes on paper when I get back to my dorm. I wouldn’t use it for notes all the time because of that. But for the price it’s the best all around for what it offers.
