About Package
Our advanced packaging technology means we can roll-pack our mattress and ship it at one-third of the normal size. The mattress that is roll-packed still retains its initial quality, as each will quickly recover and return to its original shape after being removed out of the packaging.
Tips
1) Before first use, leave it flatly in a well-ventilated area for 48-72 hours until it’s fully expanded.
2) Low temperature may need more time for expansion. Finding a suitable temperature(78℉) will shorten the time.

Got It Right!UPDATE – August 2020 I originally purchased this mattress in a queen size for our guest room over a year ago, and everyone who has had the opportunity to sleep on it has loved it. Those who come back into town to visit have called “dibs” on who gets that guest room. So, it was time for us my husband and me to get a new mattress for ourselves. We ordered the mattress in a Cal King size and have been sleeping on it for a week. The mattress is comfortable, but IS noticeably less firm than our original queen size. I am slightly disappointed as we sleep better with a firm mattress, but it is not so soft that we experience any discomfort. It just goes to show that the different production “batches” produce different results. In short, for those of you who are wondering if the mattress is more on the soft side or more on the firm side, the answer is: “YES.” Even the FAQs on the actual Bedstory website are very non-commital on this question, so you honestly just don’t know what you are going to get. . I am not removing any stars from my original review, because this is still a great mattress. If we experience any notable issues in the future, I will be sure to update.Buying a Bed In A Box can be a little worrisome. You wonder if it is going to last, if it will be comfortable, smell funny, expand fully… and the list goes on. I read HUNDREDS of reviews from multiple websites about so many different brands that I thought my head would explode. But here is the thing about reviews: they are OPINIONS from DIFFERENT PEOPLE. Some people like dark chocolate and others hate it. A pair of shoes can feel like walking on clouds for one person and like walking on pebbles to someone else. So this is MY opinion and the opinions of my guests. If someone disagrees, it is not because we are lying: it is our preference! Also, items like these are produced in batches. And, like dye lots and manufacturing codes, there can be variations between batches. One batch can be firmer and another batch be softer – so this can play into the differences in reviews. Oh, and the only “discount” I received was that it popped up on a “Lightning Deal,” but I am getting ready to purchase another one – Lightning Deal or not. This lavender infused mattress was in my “Wish List” for a while until I finished my research: actually, it sat there until I ran out of time and had to make a purchase or make my guests sleep on an air mattress. Finally, I held my breath and and hit that final button that would confirm my purchase. Then came the slight anxiety wondering if I had made a mistake and how on earth I would manage to ship it back if it fell below expectations. Then it arrived. It was super easy to open up and easy to set on the platform frame. There was a definite scent of lavender, but not overwhelming. It expanded to full height in a matter of hours, but it was not slept on for a couple of days. While it was placed in the spare room, don’t think that it hasn’t been put through its paces. It has accommodated guests anywhere from two people for a week at a time (on multiple occasions), and single sleepers for a couple of months and still looks like it just came out of the box. And the responses are always the same: everyone wants to know where I got that mattress… they all say it is the most comfortable bed they have ever slept on. I was sad when it was time to put together another guest room and I had to buy a different mattress because this one was no longer available. I kept it in my “Wish List” anyway hoping it would return, and I was so glad to see it is once again available: apparently, it had sold out and was going through production again. Would I buy it again? Yes. Recommend it? Yes. I am not saying that this is for everyone, but I can say that everyone I know who has slept on this mattress has loved it.

i let unravel 24 hoursi let unravel 24 hours and hand to push pillow top around a bid to work out lumps in center of bed from being folded. first night was great i slept next to my girl friend and it didn’t sink in the middle she is a side sleeper and she liked it. to . firm but soft ( I added a down toper) I will keep editing . as time goes

Overwhelming smell*I chose the BedStory lavender mattress due to the excellent reviews and good value. I don’t like overwhelming fragrances, but I figured that a mild lavender smell on a bed in a guest room would work out well. Other reviewers stated that the smell was faint, which sounded perfect. However, my mattress is the Glade Plug In from Hell! Our guest room is upstairs and after opening the mattress, our entire house smelled of this lavender perfume, even though I closed the door, opened windows and shut the vents to the guest room.After a week of airing the mattress, I put a waterproof cover over the mattress, sheets, a heavy quilt and topped it with a large fluffy comforter. After 2 days, the guest room still smelled of lavender and the smell even scented the fluffy comforter! That is a very strong smell.I wanted to like this mattress because it is very attractive and extremely comfortable, but I just can’t sleep on a Glad plug in! Full disclosure: 2 guests slept on the bed and found it comfortable and did not mind the smell.*Customer service for BedStory is very helpful. They suggested washing their mattress cover. I washed it 3 times and the mattress cover still smells of perfume. They also suggested airing it out. In 3 days, our house still smells. After 2 weeks, the smell is confined to upstairs, but you can smell it. If you are someone who loves your air fresheners, you might like this mattress, but if you don’t like strong smells this is the wrong mattress for you.That being said, with the exception of the smell, I really like the mattress. It expanded fully in 2 days and looks great. It is stiff and light enough that I could easily prop it against the wall to unzip the cover. The cover is of good quality and launders easily. It air dried in several hours. It was very easy for me to put the cover back on the mattress without help.*Comfort wise, this mattress feels on the firm side. It is supportive and you don’t have the hammock feeling you get with mattresses that are too soft. I think you’d like it if you prefer a medium mattress, but if you soft, it isn’t the right mattress.pros: good value, great cover, easy to handle, comfortable, responsive customer supportcons: overwhelming smell
