My experience with this mattressMost of my adult life has been spent on Tempur-Pedic®. When I moved I left my king Tempur-Pedic behind for an older queen that my daughter had. It was very uncomfortable so I decided to try a Casper Twin XL. I got the hybrid because I’m in the “heavy” body group. I thought the springs would give me a better support. On July 4th this year I made the switch to a new motorized base and the Casper which had been opened and allowed to air for about 12 hours. My first impression was the chemical smell. I’m a Chemist and am probably more tolerable than most. I knew that in time the smell would dissipate. It has finally gone at about 1.5 months. I never found it totally objectionable. My first impression of the mattress was the unique feel. The first night I felt the individual springs. I was very conscious of each one as I moved around. I prefer to sleep on my back if I can but am more comfortable on my side with this mattress. I’m not so conscious of the individual springs that way and find that I tend to stay on my side all night. I am having difficulty getting to sleep since I switched.I’m inclined to return it but might try a topper first to see if that helps. I’ve read the horror stories about Amazon not honoring the 100 night return policy so I might start with Casper first One would think they’d honor their policy.I’ll update this review if I do decide to make a change. I’m coming up on 60 nights.Sept 11, 2021I finally decided to call Casper and try to get a better sense of what the different mattresses wer like. From our discussion I concluded that the woman had never spent a minute on any of the mattresses.. So What to do? I started reading about other mattresses and they all sounded great until you read the reviews about people who purchased other brands which came with bugs and droppings, bad smells, etc. .So I finally decided to replace it with the Casper Wave but I didn’t get a hybrid this time around. Irt turns out that more expensive is not necessarily better. The wave foam mattress, although it sounds like it should be soft is much thicker and very hard in comparison to the Nova hybrid. I haven’t slept on it yet. From the feel, it is no harder than my former tempurpedic which I actually liked. The good part about this story is that when I called amazon to return the Nove and order the Wave, they said no problem. They just refunded me for the first mattress and told me to order the new one. I asked about returning the Nova and they said to keep it, donate it or scrap it. I could do what ever I wantSo there you have it. Should I have gotten the Casper Wave Hybrid? That part of the story may never be written. At least I now have two mattresses. I suspect one will become a sofa in my Granddaughters room.

Maybe Mine Was Defective?I am one that usually doesn’t write reviews, but felt it needed in this case after ordering this mattress due to seeing other really good reviews. So anyone reading this knows what lead me to buying this matters, here it is: I had purchased a Novaform Comfort Grande mattress from Costco for my son’s bed, and honestly I wasn’t expecting it to be the best. After setting it up I found it more comfortable than my personal high-end Sleep Number mattress. After experiencing this, I then purchased the same mattress for my daughter’s bed and another queen sized bed for the master bedroom at a vacation home I own. With so much luck with that mattress, when we upsized to a king bed at the vacation home I proceeded to save some money by purchasing one more of the Novaform Comfort Grande mattresses for the new bed. Only this time something went wrong and the mattress did not fully inflate to 14″ even after not sleeping on it to let it set up for days. The mattress was way softer than the others I purchased, and I assumed it to be defective, and had planned to return it to Costco. That said, I read a lot of online reviews, and from what I was reading I felt this Casper mattress would be a lot better and the way to go. Triple the price of the Novaform, but I believe we usually get what we pay for, so I felt it’d have to be better. Plus, I hate returning things, especially things like this that are hard to get back out of the home after they set up.This mattress arrived, and my wife and I took it to the property. We waited until we were heading back home to unwrap it and set it on our foundation to make sure we gave it plenty of time to air out and inflate to its proper form before we slept on it. We arrived back 2 weeks later, excited to try it out. Neither of us could sleep at all that night. The Casper I received was like a limp noodle with no support anywhere. I literally have no clue what they mean by different comfort zones, as no matter which part of the bed our bodies touched it was so soft we sunk straight to the foundation underneath it. Lay within a foot for the edges and it would literally dump us out on the floor. The mattress we received was horrendous. I way 175lbs and my wife is about 135’ish, so it’s not like we are huge people that would make a mattress bed for mercy. In conclusion,I realize companies can have a defect from time to time. Maybe something was terribly wrong with ours that others never experience. I truly hope so. All I know is that it took 4 people to carry it back down the stairs and out of the house, because anytime we’d try to stand it on it’s side to slide it/carry it, it would collapse and try seem to want to roll itself up, almost like it wanted to jump back in the vacuum pack it arrived rolled up in and back to its home in the box. I am not willing to try another one because of the huge inconvenience it took to get this thing back out of the house. I will just have to believe that mine must have been a defect based on the other reviews I’ve read about this thing. I hope so, that way other purchasers may have a better experience. They did give me my money back with no issues, so I must say it’s now like they are trying to rip anyone off, just a horrible mattress is what I received.

Twin Casper MattressToo mushy. Not at all like the queen sized Casper we purchased earlier, which is excellent. One month later, mattress still smells like mildew. I thought it was the chemical being released as the mattress aired out after being tightly rolled and shipped off in a box. However, while the odor of chemicals has dissipated the scent of mildew continues. Besides being mushy, the smell interferes with sleep. Maybe I got a flop and your mattress will be better. Based on my experience, I can’t recommend this mattress in good conscience.

Not the best. Not the worst.Let me first state, I went from a TempurPedic to a Casper, and there is a very apparent difference, or a downgrade if I’m honest. Casper Nova is a decent mattress. It does feel cheaply made – makes me question the durability. I didn’t get any significant pains while sleeping on this mattress, but I did notice a few aches on some days. Not sure if this would be the best fit for a hot sleeper either.I’ve tried both versions of the Nova mattress – memory foam and hybrid. Personally prefer memory foam. The hybrid version had so much bounce, I felt like I was going to bounce right off once I jumped in and felt even cheaper. The mattress is soft, but wouldn’t consider it “plush.” (I also tried Casper Wave Hybrid – the Nova is definitely softer and not as thick overall). After a few weeks, I decided to go back to TempurPedic. This would be a good mattress for a child, teen, or temporary reasons. Also, I’ve dealt first hand with Casper customer service. The returns are simple, but you may have to wait about a week or two for your mattress to get picked up. If you contact them via email, be prepared to wait a few DAYS for a response.

Casper Sleep Nova Hybrid-extremely plush not meant for everyoneFirst point of clarity is we did return the mattress, and Amazon was great about that so please know that upfront. The mattress itself is extremely plush, I am 215lb 6-2 and it offered no support for me or my wife who is about half my size. While the quality of the bed itself seemed ok it was just way more ‘plush’ than advertized. Before we returned the mattress I contacted Casper directly and they were utterly useless with support or concern, tells you something about the company. I had asked to speak to someone who can describe what it should feel like or if others had similar issues and all they could say was if you dont like it return it…well i did. You should also know that wherever you purchase it the first 100 days you have to deal with the place where purchased, meaning you have NO WARRANTY with casper until after 100 days very odd. I asked even if mine was simply defective and they could not give a clear answer so again, we decided to return as was the best option. I am not saying that this is a bad product just know what your buying as everyone is different. Because of the lack of clarity and customer service we will not be considering Casper in the future, but have nothing but great things to say about working with Amazon.

Buying a second one!Side sleeper. First mattress I’ve had that didn’t leave me with some kind of back pain. I can finally sleep in again! Honestly wasn’t sure about it the first two weeks, was still having shoulder, upper back pain from side sleeping. But after a month I was waking up with no pain. Now my only problem is showing up to work on time! Definitely try it out at least 30 days before giving up on it, I think you’ll be satisfied with your purchase.

Back pain gone!!!!Have had back pain for several years, when my husband said we should give Casper a try. Within 3 nights, we both had no more back pain, esp. in the morning. Unbelievable!!! We have tried 4 other mattresses with no success in relieving our back pain. 3 nights on Casper Nova, no more pain. Hoping it continues, we’ve had it for only 2 weeks. Finally, looking forward to going to bed to sleep! We are also looking for how the Casper holds its shape and comfort over time. It’s only been 2 weeks, and so far so good!Happy, so far, with the Casper! Night 16 of the first 100 Nights.

I really wish I could return this mattressI tested this mattress in the store before purchasing on Amazon to make sure I liked it. I bought it on Amazon vs. the store because of the good deal on delivery. Turns out this mattress is hard as a rock and hot as hell. I’m so disappointed that I’m unable to return it after a few months or use. Now some time has gone by… + the sleeping situation hasn’t changed. (I can’t sleep)A few notes:- Typically I’m not a hot sleeper, and I’m HOT laying on this mattress.- The mattress technology is suppose to be designed to form to your body based on pressure points and I don’t feel like this mattress does that.- I also bought the Casper waterproof mattress protector and use it. The bed is much more stiff with the mattress protector.- If you need a more sturdy/stiff mattress this is right for you.

This is a hybrid mattress. A mix of foam and springsAfter spending decades on a very old bed with a foam liner on top this mattress is very different. It will take sometime to get use to it. First time I went on the bed it was soft on top but stiffer as you sink in to it. I imagine this is the hybrid part of the bed.I don’t hate it but it’s a different type of mattres.
