Just the intial review. Stay tuned for the full review!!!****This is my intial review. I won’t be able to properly review t his bed until I spend a few weeks actually sleeping in it. I just wanted to post this because of all the reviews already posted (that I read) regarding the shipment, inflation, and easy (some mattress “broke, had bumps, never rose, or tore” when opening). I want to give this bed a fair, reasonable review. FYI, regarding the pic with my hand. I have fat hands/fingers but the width is about 3 inches. LOL****So to begin with, I was a little surprised on how small the box it arrives in is. It arrived 2 days ago, I set it up yesterday. I wish I would have taken pictures on how it was packaged, but I didn’t. Honestly, I was super excited to open it and get it set up. I live in an RV, and I ordered a standard queen size. They do offer “Short Queen” ,which is normally for RV’s, but the standard queen worked great. It is about maybe 1 to 1 1/2inches longer than the base. So that isn’t bad at all. It took my neighbor and myself to get the box up and inside my home. It was heavier than I thought it was going to be for the size of packaging. In saying that, disassembling it was a lot easier than what the reviews had said. Once I removed it from the box that it came in, I set the role on top of the bed frame. It was wrapped tightly in two different sets of thick plastic wraps. From the reviews, I thought I was going to need either scissors, or a razor blade, to undo the plastic. However, none of those needed. The plastic wrap it came in had about a foot long of loose plastic, all we had to do was pull that plastic apart and the mattress basically unroll itself. I will admit it was wrapped quite a few times around. Once that was open it slightly expanded showing it was folded into fours. (Picture a rectangle, folded in half and then folded in half again.) Once it got to that point, it was much lighter (I can’t understand why it felt lighter???) that I was able to move it on to the bed frame very easily. After that, again, no scissors or blades needed, the plastic itself was easy to open up. We pulled it from out under the top and around the bottom. Automatically, it started to rise. Unlike the reviews, stating that even after 12 maybe 14 hours later, my bed nearly rose up to the full 10ft it was supposed to be after just 1 hr. I did continued to fluff it up, pick it up and let it fall down softly so that the mattress could fully inflate. After only about 5hrs, my mattress expanded to it’s full size. In fact, it is measuring at about 10.5 inches, not the 10 it was said to be. I have included pictures. {*PLEASE NOTE* Since I was taking the pictures while holding the measuring tape at the same time, the pictures are a little fooling.} You can see alot more clearly in the other pictures, the bed inflated to full capacity in less than 10hrs.I will have to stop my review, for now, seeing as tonight is going to be the 1st night we sleep on it. I will be sure to add more pictures and add updates in a few weeks. I be sure to let you know; is it too firm or to soft, it is worth the money or not, and if I would recommend it or not? I always give my honest opinion on all of my reviews, be good or bad. So come back and I will reveal the truth on the comfort, stability and longevity of this bed.

Not too hard, not too soft. Cradles you just right.Starting off, I want to get the “cooling” portion out of the way. I frankly feel like it’s a gimmick that mattress companies and pillow companies use. But my body radiates the heat of 1000 suns, so any kind of cooling gel technology probably makes as much of a difference as farting in a hurricane. I think if you pair a cooling gel mattress with the proper sheets and blanket then you can make a difference. True, and I mean REAL Egyptian cotton sheets, with a breathable comforter then it will definitely let the bed feel cooler than lets say a normal memory foam with regular/common/standard cotton sheets from Target.As for firmness, this leans more on the firm side than soft side. It still has give when you lay in it with the memory foam shaping to your body and giving some push back. This allows for more comfortable back and stomach laying. My brother recommended this mattress to us, and he had lower back surgery.I am 6 foot 3, 240 lbs. He is 6 foot 5, 326 lbs. I got the 10 inch, and I believe he got the next size up. So for bigger or heavier people you may want more than 10 inches of thickness.Our last mattress was a custom $3000 Sleep Doctor, and while that was like sleeping on a cloud in our 20s, it began to hurt our backs in our mid 30s. This new mattress has given me much better nights of sleep. Everyone is going to have a different need for their body though, and this may be too firm for their needs. The only way to know is to try it out and see.Also– yes, the cooling gel is only on one face of the mattress.

Has Turned Out to be the Most Comfortable Mattress Owned!When I purchased this mattress I wasn’t left too much time to make a decision, my box spring imploded shortly before purchasing, lol! The entire box spring went, from the support beam to the coils coming undone, and busting through my foam bedding, all in one night, all with two moves of my body, lol! I didn’t want another box spring and found these mattresses being advertised as ‘toppers’ to be used on top of your old foam mattress to give ‘new life’ to your older foam mattress. The idea intrigued me and I continued to research how I could accomplish. Since I like firm mattresses, I was unsure if buying online was the way to go, due to not being able to sample the mattress. However, quickly realized I could return. I looked for a platform bed, as it was suggested, due to not wanting another box spring for my foam mattress. I found the Zinus SmartBase 14 inch Platform Frame and purchased both the mattress and the platform frame. When I opened the mattress, I left to air out and expand on the guest bed for twenty-four hours, then put the frame together. By the next day, the chemical odor that was profound while opening the mattress had completely dissipated along with the mattress expanding the way it was advertised to do. The next day I put the mattress on top of my older foam mattress and new Zinus frame and laid down on the bed. I couldn’t believe what I was feeling. Although I was up higher than I had been used to due to the platform frame and the two mattresses together, I felt perfectly comfortable in a seated position and while lying down. I have now had the mattress and platform bed for a few weeks and both have proved to be one of the best investments that I have made in bedding, to date. The neck pain that I was used to experiencing is gone completely! The soreness from having my back operated on, twice, in 2011, was completely gone! When I get in the bed at any time, my body sinks down to a perfect position to align with my entire body. Thereafter, I feel ‘coolness’! I was amazed when feeling how cool the mattress is. My original foam mattress is very warm and has always been the only disappointment to me since purchasing. When I cover up if using covers that night, I turn to my side (side sleeper) and have not remembered falling asleep since buying these products! I close my eyes and the next thing I remember is waking up the next day. I have NEVER fallen asleep in this manner since I can remember falling asleep. I love the mattress. The mattress is firm, but not too firm. The mattress won’t allow your entire body to ‘sink in softness’ as the bed isn’t made to be ‘squishy soft’, the mattress is firm, however, the mattress does give to accommodate your weight. Although the mattress was left on the guest bed for twenty-four hours, the corners didn’t expand to 6 inches, only 4 inches. I’ve read other reviews and customers have experienced the same issue. I can only guess the machine that flattens the mattress to fit in the small box the mattress comes in, is to blame. Since the corners don’t interfere with the most comfortable sleep I have ever had in my life, I am more than willing to overlook. The mattress did expand to 6 inches everywhere else other than the corners. I like having the bed higher than what I am normally used to, although different, I have found this isn’t something that bothers me. I like to watch television while in bed, and this actually assists with my eyesight being aligned with the television screen while in bed. I love the mattress and the comfort it provides. Due to the price I paid for both the mattress and the platform frame, I feel like I have hit the lottery for a few thousand dollars. When I purchased my original foam mattress and box spring, I paid over 1, 000.00 for the entire purchase, back in 2006. For what I paid for this mattress and frame, then finding the comfort and the benefits I have ended up being provided is only a plus all the way around. I can’t shout loud enough how happy I am with these products and would honestly and wholeheartedly recommend to anyone else who is trying to decide on purchasing the mattress and platform frame to not be concerned if you will be totally satisfied. (Very shortly, I will be leaving a 5-star rating for the Zinus 14 inch Smart Base Platform Frame, in addition to this one. The frame only compliments the mattress I’ve purchased. The frame is very sturdy and doesn’t move, AT ALL, with the two foam mattresses and myself are on the bed. I am 6’2 and my weight is 205lbs. There is an 8-inch foam mattress being used as the support for the new 6-inch Basic Foam Mattress, including my weight, all is being supported without any notice to any stress to the frame in any manner. I believe my older foam full mattress weighs around 94 lbs, + my weight, 205, + 6 inch mattress = 39 lbs, =338 lbs. I have heard no noises like squeaking or any other noises. The frame doesn’t move AT ALL, while I’m on the bed and only compliments the comfort I receive from the mattress. I have spent less than 200.00 dollars for the entire purchase for the mattress and the platform frame, and all this comfort feels like I’ve finally have won the war on finding something that works as well as I would have expected if I had paid for a high-end mattress and frame.)

Super comfortableIts soft and is also firm, its worth it and very comfortable. I woke up and had a little back pain but that is probably because I don’t have a box spring yet. Its kind of annoying to cut the plastic off when you get it. The mattress automatically fills up to its full size and in the end is very comfortable. The cool gel also I haven’t really noticed, there are times I can full the mattress is a little cool.

It took 3 full days to inflate all the wayI suffer from a lot of skeleton pain as I call it so this mattress has helped decrease that pain thank goodness. 😊

FantasticTo begin, I did what I would consider a lot of research before finally purchasing this bed. Many reviews on here have worse health issues than me that make it hard for them to sleep at night. My situation is that my wife is pregnant with our first and was having a difficult time getting a good nights rest.This review will be based on packaging, installation and first few nights sleeping.Packaging :I personally though it was package great. No room for moisture to get in and keeping everything sealed the way it’s suppose to be. The box may have been scuffed a little but hey, your buying a mattress not a box. It was light enough to move around but I didn’t have to climb 10 flights of stairs either. The bed was wrapped in god, I want to say 2 things of thick plastic in which had the air sucked out.Installing:Once out of the box, unroll that sucker right where you plan to sleep. When you unroll it, the bottom of the bed will face up. Flip it upside down (so now it’s right side up) and carefully cut the edge to activate THE INFLATION PROCESS. I swear to you, it inflated in probably less than 1 minute. All corners measured to the size I ordered and even through the middle sections. Now this is where I had to find out what this UNBELIEVABLE SMELL was that others spoke of. After it inflated I stuck my nose to it, There IS a smell ok, lets just get that out of the way now. I can tell you it is NOT AS BAD as people made it out to be. Up close you can smell it, a few steps back not so much but still there. To me and i’ll be honest with you, it smelt like a painted room. I stuck a fan on it for 1 or 2 days no windows open BTW and it went away.Now you’re probably wondering where the smell came from. I researched that and found that there are chemicals or materials used to be flame retardant.I did give it 36 or so hours to fully expand and then we decided to sleep on it which brings me to my next bullet.First Few Nights Sleeping:First night was unreal, in a good way. Sleeping through the night without being woken by my wife moving and shifting. If you’re wondering, yes she has slept better not being woken up as much either. Did not wake up with back pains. I am able to come into bed after my wife falls asleep and not have her wake up by the annoying sounds a STUPID SPRINGS.Yes i would recommend this bed to someone BUT since we are new to memory foam beds or this one anyways I cannot tell you how long it will last. What I will tell you because we were told this and it made sense. We bought this as a packaged deal including a black metal frame and since that bed frame has thin bars to support the bed then try this.We cut down the box the bed came in into 2 large pieces to place between the frame and the bed to help support the bed better. Remember, it is memory foam and will conform to these bars on the frame but the cardboard helps prevent this so no bar lines will form under the bed. Make sense?Also, get yourself a mattress protector for the foam for additional protection.I hope this has helped you and yes, I do get this is a long review but to me its better than having questions and all you see for a review is (its awesome, great bed, LOVE IT) and so on. Anyways, I will update maybe 6 months or 1 year from now and see where things are.Later……..

This is a quality foam mattressI really like this mattress. It’s got some solid support, overlaid with some “cool gel” foam, all contained in a zippered cover. I’ve slept on it on the floor and it’s been pretty comfortable.I’m not thrilled with the “cool” feature – I still tend to get a little warm and, since this is only a twin-size mattress, it’s a little difficult to find space that’s not holding heat. Do any of the “cool gel” mattresses really work? I’m wondering!But it’s a quality product – good quality. I think it would last quite a while without sagging or breaking down.But I can’t say it’s “cool”.
