Description
The relaxed lifestyle of French Wine country comes to life in Crosley Furniture’s Roots Rack. Its rustic design is reflective of a time when recycling wasn’t a societal choice, but a way of life. Starting with a solid pine top, Crosley simulates the popular “reclaimed” wood look by hand–etching a weathered plank design into the surface. The rich honey finish extends to the sturdy legs, riding on industrial style casters wrapped in rubber. Two spacious drawers sit on full-extension glides, providing maximum utility. The sturdy metal shelves are finished in black, and are perfectly notched to secure individual wine bottles. Completing the package are industrial style drawer pulls, towel bars, and X-supports. The Roots Rack is perfect for any kitchen activity – slicing, dicing, mixing, or mingling.

Love my new islandI’ve been looking all over the web for a small kitchen island because my kitchen isn’t very big and less counter space. So I came across this one!! The look I was after and the right measurements!! I absolutely love it!!

A bargain for an unimposing, modern kitchen island made of quality materialsMy only complaint about this island is that the drawers were very difficult to remove from the unit during the assembly process. It required teamwork to maneuver them out, and they were VERY greasy. I had to wash my hands with two rounds of GoJo. Otherwise, assembly was a snap. If you like assembling furniture, you’ll have fun with this unit (except maybe with removing the drawers, but it seems as though only a handful of reviewers had an issue removing the drawers). it doesn’t take that much time to put together–at least, I didn’t think so. Each part is labeled with a letter sticker that corresponds to the parts in the written instructions. All of the tiny parts come neatly packaged and compartmentalized. The wheels are sturdy and roll well–I’d looked for hours across several days for a kitchen island on wheels for which the reviewers reported wheels that weren’t flimsy. There was a strong smell from the wheels when I opened the package, but that dissipated in less than a day. OH! I have one other minor complaint. There are larger stickers on the main part of the unit that were difficult to remove. I recommend employing some GooGone to get all the sticky bits off. We love that this kitchen island isn’t imposing. We saw so many massive blocks of wood, and we didn’t want some enormous mass in the middle of the kitchen. We hang our kitchen towels off one handle and the oven mitts (using s-hooks) off the other end. The shelving is strong, and we place our larger cookware there. The drawers are also convenient. We appreciate that the unit is made of solid wood and isn’t MDF or particle board. It has a modern design and is beautiful in the kitchen. We also like the option of being able to easily move it around if necessary. The top shouldn’t be used as a cutting surface–it’s really more decorative than anything. But it’s easy enough to place a proper cutting board on top of it should we need to chop anything.

Very Sturdy, but if you need a replacement partVery Sturdy, but if you need a replacement part you will be sent the entire cart so you will have to send back an entire cart. The cart itself is very easy to assemble, although two of the dowels did not line up I put it together without them just fine. Also one of the locking casters did not lock this is how I found out they send out an entire cart just for a part, but the customer service interaction was great and they scheduled a pick up as this is a heavy container. When assembled it is about a half inch taller than my counter tops but with a different type of counter top could be about and inch or so taller. All in all I really like the cart for its sturdiness and look. The scheduled pick up did not take place and when I called UPS was told an additional fee between 6 and 15 dollars would be needed to allow for pick up, seeing that it is 65-70 lbs. I chose to pay (ended up being 9.90) so just be aware of that, maybe the return label was put in incorrectly or agent was not aware of additional charge but it happened regardless.

LOVE it (minus one thing)LOVE the functionality of this. Made it into an amazing coffee bar. Also use it for coffee mugs & silver wear. Fits perfectly in kitchen nook. Don’t LOVE the wood color – thought it would match a little better than it did. Has two different shades of color: the body & the legs are more brown while the drawers & the top are more yellow. Considered staining it, but after putting it together really didn’t want to take it apart to do so.Found black speckled cutting boards that perfectly fit the top to protect it from liquid/staining. Easy to clean in that regard. Use baskets on the shelves and slight scraping on the metal slats but nothing very noticeable. Drawers are very shallow but was able to finally find silver wear trays to fit. Definitely cannot reach in to the back of the drawer.Assembly took time but just follow instructions carefully. Had to tweak the drawer railing for smooth closing.**If you don’t want a towel rack on both sides, make that decision FIRST…because you’ll have to take the whole thing apart to remove it. This might sound like a negative review…but many factors to consider. Really do love my coffee bar.

It’s nicely made and looks good, but issues with received productThe good- Shipping was received thru FedEx in a timely manner- it was easy to assemble- it feels sturdy- finish colors look like the product photosThe unexpected- Product height was higher than my normal countertop height. But I can live it.The bad- after fully assembling and flipping it over, I noticed there was a pretty deep nick on the top. I own other similar types of furniture that has grooves and Nick’s that are finished. This was not the case- screws included for handle was too short. I tried using another set of personal M6 screws I had in hand but the treads we’re different so it wouldn’t work. We’ll see how the seller responds.

Great addition to my kitchen…LOVE IT!We moved into a new house almost 2 years ago, and although I love everything about the new house, I miss my old kitchen, especially the island. My new kitchen has a peninsula, but no island. So I was looking for something to fill that void. This cart is absolutely perfect! I looked at LOTS of options before I settled on this cart, and the selling point was the 18.25″ width. Most of the other carts I looked at were 22-24″ width, and since my kitchen is kind of narrow, I was afraid that those carts would take up too much space. This cart is well made and very solid. I wouldn’t consider the drawers to be “spacious” as described by the seller, but they are adequate for storing a few things. We use one of the drawers for cork screws, wine charms, foil cutter and bottle stoppers…perfect! The rubber wheels roll very easily, but can be locked to keep the cart in place. The height is a little higher than my kitchen counters, but not so much that it’s really noticeable, and I actually like the height as it makes it easier on my back when working. I wasn’t home when my husband assembled it, but he said it wasn’t “too bad”. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice this cart looks, I wasn’t expecting to be as “WOWED” as I was when I first saw it! I was a little hesitant about the price, but am very glad I spent the money because it is something that I will use every day for many years, and a lot less costly than having a “permanent island” installed, so it was definitely worth the price! This is a great addition to my kitchen and I would highly recommend it!

Excellent addition to our kitchenAssembly was fairly easy; even easier if you read the instructions carefully since there are similar bolts that belong in different places. Once assembled, it is just right as a storage cart and work space. The color was slightly darker than it appeared on line and that was a pleasant surprise. It better matched our kitchen woodwork.

Well Guided Assembly, Beautiful ProductI was mostly impressed by how well they planned out the instructions for building this thing. Laying out and naming all the components, as well as including extras in case you lost a bolt or washer or something. All the way down to the dowels that are only temporary and ultimately disposable but, that facilitate building it with one person… quite brilliant. Beautiful end product…. The metal shelves are a bit of a thin gauge metal and final assembly has a little lateral play but, very little and not enough to be concerned about unless you’re rolling it around loaded, regularly. Only other HUGE gripe is the amount of styrofoam I had to send to the landfill from the shipping box…. major bummer but, I also know they’re up against the need to protect the product, which is quite heavy, in what has to be some pretty rough handled shipping situations. Still: please work on that! Styrofoam is evil and forever.
