Functional design for small space but not for heavy adultsGive thanks to YHWH for this bed! It has helped me to transform a small space into a functional studio like feel. My neighbor who is pretty handy helped me put this together which was a blessing because it was a lot of pieces and instructions. I am 5’9 and 150 lbs. I rest well in this bed on a 6″ mattress that i got from target (it can not be thicker than 6″ or you could roll off). With a down comforter and a bunch of pillows, it is blissful resting. HalleluYHWH! the only drawbacks are that the ladder is really made for smaller people not people who have hips…when I reach the top I kind of maneuver one knee in and then the other to get in. When I initially put it up I was concerned that the bed moves a bit when you are climbing up and down like it needs more weight. Once i put the mattress + bedding it still wiggles a little bit going up and down but nothing that’s too concerning. I thought about putting some weights around the bottom but i probably won’t be bothered. I would not recommend this bed for anyone bigger than me. Overall I’m happy with this bed because it is very functional for me a wider ladder would have made all the difference for an adult buyer however.

Perfect for small placesWe ordered this for my 14 year old son who needed a full size bed, which would not have fit well within our relatively small bedrooms especially since he also needs a desk for school work. First and foremost, this is definitely a large piece of furniture, and the picture on the product page is a bit deceptive because it shows the bed placed in what would have to be a massive room. Due to the height of the bed, it will definitely work best in a room with ceilings higher than 8 feet in order to allow the sleeper plenty of head room for sitting up and crawling in and out of bed, and we actually had to uninstall my son’s ceiling fan and change to a flush sitting light fixture because the bed comes out far enough from the wall to interfere with the fan that was installed in the center of the room. This was one of the few loft beds that I was able to find rated for adult size weight limits, and according to the manufacturer’s website, the bed is rated to a maximum weight of 300 pounds. The instructions were relatively easy to follow, and we did not have issues with missing pieces or poor packaging. My husband and I were able to easily assemble the bedframe and desk components, place the mattress, and make the bed in less than 2 hours. While the bed does have a bit of “shake” when climbing up and down, both my husband and I both took turns climbing up and down into the bed and laying there without any concerns about stability. The desk is well-sized and tall enough to allow an executive style desk chair to slide fully underneath it (arms and all), and my tall husband was able to sit at the desk comfortably with plenty of head room. Some things that we have noticed over the past week that my son has been using the bed:1. Despite good room lighting, the desk area is dark and will require a desk light to allow for an adequate work environment.2. If your child does not like climbing in and out of bed in a completely dark room, it will be nearly impossible for him/her to access a wall switch for the room light from bed. We installed a desk lamp with a clip on the bedrail facing the room, so our son is able to turn on this light prior to climbing into bed, turn off the general room light, and then climb into bed with the light from the clip lamp.3. Obviously, a bedside table is not usable, and our son found that he missed having a place to sit a book when he was reading prior to going to sleep, to put his glasses after getting into bed, etc. The bed manufacturer highly discourages hanging anything from the side of the bed due to the risk of strangulation, so we used Command hooks to attach a couple of small wire baskets to the wall above the head of the bed to allow him a place to put small odds and ends.4. The bed is definitely much easier to make if you can keep walking space at both the head and foot of the bed, enough to use a step ladder to stand on while placing the fitted sheet and tucking in the top sheet/blankets.5. While you will need a full size fitted bottom sheet, twin size flat top sheets and comforters are the perfect size because of the lack of room for draping.

Great bed. My granddaughter loves it.As a word of caution: buy an 8 inch mattress. From the mattress base to top rail is 12″. We bought a pillow top and it was too high.

Good basic loftServes its purpose well as a loft and as a study space. It took two people a little over two hours to assemble, you definitely need two sets of hands for the job if you don’t want the big parts to get unweildy, three people would make the process really hum along. Make sure to leave the screws only partially tightened until all the parts are in place, otherwise you’ll have a difficult time getting the last few parts to fit. It’s about par for the course as far as metal bunks/lofts go, it doesn’t creak at all, and it’s certainly not unstable, but it definitely shakes a bit as you climb the ladder. Side to side movement isn’t too bad (i.e. if you’re rolling over or coming up the side ladder), back and forth movement is more noticeable (i.e. if you’re coming up the end ladder). Wooden lofts are sturdier and have a higher weight capacity, but they’re much more pricey. This loft is perfect for the price range. The flat ladder slats are nicer than rounded steps, but they can still be uncomfortable with bare feet and slippery with socks on. I do wish the guardrails were a little higher so you could fit a 10″ mattress and have more than a stubby 2″ of rail. The desk space is functional, the corkboard-backed bulletin board is also a nice feature. I can fit a monitor and compact keyboard on there comfortably.Overall there’s not a better loft at this price.

Great for a teenager sharing a room with a toddler. We bought this for our daughters 10th birthday. She shares a room with her younger sister who is a year old. We decided that she needed more of her “own” space within the room. To do that is hard in a 10×12 bedroom. My wife did a lot of research on beds with idea that a loft bed would provide more room. We choose this one for the desk and that it was a full sized mattress because we did not want to buy a new mattress. It took about 4 hours to get put together and the instructions are not the best but I have dealt with worse. To hide the surprise, I started building in the garage and then moved the completed sides to the bedroom to complete when she was not home. I was able to complete the whole thing by myself with the tools provided. We love that it has 2 ladders and have hung a shower curtain around the bottom of the mattress to give privacy and 2 chairs. One for the desk where she works on her legos and art projects and the other is a comfy folding chair for her to read it. She loves it and has decorated it. It fits a small book shelf under it but I have to fasten it to the bed frame since the bottom of the frame has bars that keeps it away from the wall. The bed is very solid. More that I expected it to be for the price. I have been up on it at 230 pounds and it held solid. I can shake it but it does not have the feel of a frame that will collapse. It works well and has lasted with no issues so far. Will recommend it for other looking for a bit more room.

and I must say I love it! The fact that it’s a loft leaves …I got my loft bed about a week ago, and I must say I love it! The fact that it’s a loft leaves me with plenty of room to fit more things in my small apartment room, and supplies me with a sturdy desk area to put my computer and give me an area to work and play games. And it’s a great price to boot!I will say this about the bed, however. Though it is sturdy, I will say that it does wobble, both when you climb the ladder to get up on the bed, and if you roll around on the bed. I’ve read some other reviews saying that once you are on the bed, it doesn’t move, and that just isn’t true. The legs aren’t super thick, so a little wobble when you move around is to be expected. That being said, it isn’t anything that bothers me personally, and it doesn’t move enough to disturb myself or the things I have on the desk beneath me. I’m mostly just saying this for anyone that may be a super restless sleeper, it may be a problem or keep you awake more. Another note, some reviews complain about the ladder hurting your feet, but it hasn’t been much of a problem for me. Just a bit of discomfort, but no pain.Another thing is assembly. It isn’t hard to put together and can be done by yourself, but I will say it can get a bit arduous, and an extra set of hands to help will greatly speed up the process, even if that person is just helping hold something up.Those things aside, I’m super happy with this bed thus far, and recommend it to anyone looking to save a little space! 😀

Absolutely wonderful! So I absolutely love this bed! I’ve had a twin bed up until this point ( I am almost 18 years old) and the first think I absolutely love is the space! It wasn’t too terribly difficult to put together; it took myself and my 15 year old sister about 2 and a half hours and about a half an hour the next day for the desk. At first I was concerned about the wobbling because I have a 5 year old little brother but he climbs on it up and down all day long. I guess he loves it just as much as I do! I also live in a trailer and the bed isn’t to talk for my ceilings which I am very grateful for. I’m about 5’2 and can comfortably lay in this bed without worrying about bumping my head. I also weigh about 150 pounds and I feel like it hold weight very well even with me and my little brother up there. All in all, I wanted the bed so I could have my own little private work-space for when I start college and i feel as if it has give me that and so much more. Although there was one hold during the entire building process that the screw didn’t line up, but it wasn’t anywhere important so I didn’t worry about it. I would definitely recommend this bed to anyone that just wants their own comfortable space ( I share a room with my sister so this was a must for me). I’ve had this bed for a little under 2 weeks so I hope it lasts me a very long time.

Sturdy enough for shaggin’I was looking for a new bed when I come across this Full size Loft Bed. It doesn’t take too long to assemble and everything lined up good. It shakes a little bit going up and getting into the bed but its very sturdy. I had my girlfriend over this week and we tried out the bed. It held up pretty well to activities we did on the bed. We are old folks (both of us are 44, Combined weight 290 lbs ) and getting up and down the ladder wasn’t bad either. The problem I had was the ladder hurt my feet a little bit due to the width of the step. The steps are pretty narrow so to solve this problem I went to Lowe’s and purchased some 1″ copper pipe rubber insulation( see picture). It comes split down the side with adhesive to seal it together. Its so much easier on the feet. Make sure its on there tight so it doesn’t spin around and if you have to , just add a bit of glue to the top of the step to hold it secure. I used this mattress for this bed and it works perfect. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005A4OPFM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Shaky but sturdy, cool for kids!Sturdy but shaky going up and down. Got this for my 10 year old daughter and she loves it. It’s very high to the ceiling however, if she were taller she’d have to duck down while sitting on the bed. The ladder is very small, not much room for climbing and the steps hurt. Overall I do like this product for space saving and giving the room a cool look.My boyfriend put this together for my daughter btw and said it’s definitely a 2 person job. It’s easy to assemble with 2 people and a little difficult with 1 person.

Great way to add usable floor space to a kids bedroom while providing a work area too!I originally purchased 3 in 1 furniture for my kids as babies and 10 years later they have gotten to the point that they need enough space in their standard size 120 square foot room for a full size bed, dresser, bookshelf, and desk. I was considering building a custom loft to fit a full size bed (that’s the final bed size for the 3 in 1 furniture), but once I saw this design I knew that there was no way that I could build a custom unit with a built in shelf/desk for less than I could purchase this. The instructions are the easiest to follow that I have come across with these “assembly required” kits and everything was easy to identify and well packaged in one 150 lb. box. Assembly time for one individual takes about 3 hours from opening the box to putting the mattress on the loft.If you have a ceiling light/fan in the room where you are placing the loft, be aware of clearance issues with the light/fan and loft occupants when it is placed in its final location since this will only be 2′ from the ceiling on a standard 8′ wall height.
