Big hit with my 4-year-oldTaking off one star because the color is different than expected. I would describe the color more as a honey oak… not a light espresso. Other than that, it’s a great bed! My child is thrilled that it has a slide! I recommend a lower height mattress (we bought a 6” mattress from Amazon to go with it, which works perfectly) so they railings will actually serve their purpose. It’s sturdy, and was relatively easy to assemble. Recommend.

Okay overall – better labels and instructions would be nice!TL;DR = It’s an okay value for the cost. The precut and stained lumber alone is worth the price, however the directions suck and some parts had minor damage.Pros:* The wood is nice quality. With the exception of the white portion of the slide, the entire thing is solid wood that’s been stained a nice color.* Overall sturdiness. Once assembled, the bed feels very solid. The picture does not show this, but there are 16 slats that run underneath the mattress, giving it nice stability. The slats are also close enough together that children cannot fit their heads through the gaps (major health risk!)Cons:* HORRIBLE to assemble. As several other reviews mentioned, assembly is a real beast. Two people working together is not just a suggestion – it’s REQUIRED. This sucker uses FIFTY dowels. That’s right…FIFTY. It took both my husband and myself (both competent, “handy” adults) nearly 3 hours to assemble this. Not only are the directions awful, but the majority of the pieces are unmarked. We spent over half an hour just unpacking the box and trying to figure out if everything was there (since we didn’t want to get halfway through assembly only to discover we were missing a critical part).* Some wooden pieces were warped a bit. Normally this wouldn’t be a horrible thing, since once you start bolting things together it will flex a bit and straighten out. The reason it made this VERY hard was because in the first few steps you’re just working with the dowels, and if any of the pieces are even SLIGHTLY bent, then they will not hold together long enough for you to put in the long bolts – they’ll just keep popping off each other (which led to LOTS of profanity in my house!) One of the legs (the one to the right of the ladder) was VERY badly warped, to the point where we could not fully bolt on the bottom step – only partially bolted. We were worried that if we kept trying to force the bolt in, that the wood would crack.* The slide is NOT interchangeable. If you want to switch sides on it – YOU CAN’T. I don’t care what ANY of the other reviews you read might have claimed – IT CANNOT BE DONE without MAJOR re-drilling of holes (which I would not suggest).Overall – it’s not bad and we’re fairly pleased with the quality – the only BIG disappointment was the bowed leg that will just have to be tightened over time. For reference, if you’re like me and you want to purchase shelving or cubbies to go under the bed area in advance of actually GETTING the bed (so you can assemble it all at once), then the clearance you’re working with under the bed is 29 inches from the floor to the bottom of the bed. Understand that if you try to put something under there that is 29 inches tall, it will be touching the rails under the bed.

Shaky bedMy kids absolutely love it. But it wasn’t so easy to put together as it came in two boxes and the pieces were everywhere. Also all put together it is a very shaky bed anytime they get on it. It shakes and isn’t as sturdy as I wanted it to be.

Assembly took a whileThis bed is great for the price and my 4 year old loves it but it took us HOURS to put together. The parts weren’t labeled so we had to separate them and figure out which was which. It was also super hard to get some of the screws in with the screwdriver and provided tool. It also doesn’t come with any extra screws or parts so be sure not to lose any! Ultimately I wish I would have selected the option to have someone come build it for us. Other than that we are really happy with it!

Love this bedWe’ve had this bed for 4 years. I’ve been meaning to write a review for so long. I don’t write many reviews. Wood color is beautiful. Bed is sturdy & fun. We love it! One of our best purchases.

Good for kids under 100 poundsI use mine with bed risers (must have 5) for a few extra inches. After awhile we took the slide off (it did work with risers but we built a wooden “foot” for it but I felt like my daughter just flew down it and it takes up a significant amount of floor space. All in all I would buy it agian-

Took ALOT of work but worth itThis bed comes in a lot of pieces and looks intimidating but with time and patience it is totally worth it. My 2 year old loves it and it is very sturdy. I’m about 5’9 208 and put him to sleep in his bed. With my weight plus his the bed was very sturdy. Put any doubt to rest this was totally worth it.

Finish very rough and pieces warpedThis bed should do the job but it is not well made. Most wood pieces were warped or bowed and the finish was not smooth. Many of the holes were crooked or off center but I was able to pull them in enough to work. It definitely takes two people to assemble because the wood is not strong enough to support the weight of hanging pieces during assembly. I probably got what I paid for since the price was so much lower than other similar beds. If you are looking for cheap price and quality to match, this is it.

Pretty good bed but no predrilled holes! The bed is sturdy enough, and my child loves it, but the fact that the main bed supports did not have predrilled holes was frustrating. None of the screws labeled “F” had holes to screw into. If the mattress support isn’t secure, the bed is not safe. Thankfully I have a drill and the appropriate sized bit, and was able to drill myself some holes and get it done, but making sure the actual supports can be secured should be a priority for a child’s bed.
