What is Parawood?
Parawood, also known as Rubberwood, is considered to be environmentally sound as it uses plantation trees that have been felled at the end of their cycle of latex production and new trees are grown. The wood, therefore, is harvested from a renewable source. Parawood’s latex production begins when it is about five or six years old and continues until it is about 25 to 30 years. These trees grow to about 75 feet-80 feet high and are extensively used for making furniture. These trees are native to Central America, India and Indonesia.

Not what I was expecting..My sisters put this table together as a surprise for me at my new town house.Package arrived early, with no damage..All parts were perfect and accounted for.Neither sister complained about the assembly so I assume it was easy.The shade of the pecan wood looks spot on. I love it, but my concern is at first glance, the drop leaf seams on both seams when in the up position seem to be wider than expected and not a tight fit. It’s not lose but it when I stood back to look at it, I could see dark lines where the leaf area is.It’s the first thing I noticed about the table.In product pictures, you can hardly see the drop leaf seam when in position.I’m disappointed about that but I love the style of the table legs and the color of the wood.I’m disappointed because I was expecting much better quality after paying over $200 for it.

Very functionalI built this all by myself. It’s very functional and fits in small spaces. It is very heavy– in my opinion. I got the unfinished table, i regret not sealing it since having my plants on it has caused water marks 🙁

Great on Day 1.Easy to assemble with the exception of the legs. There is limited space in the pedestal and the small wrench will be tedious to tighten properly. We have a small ratchet tool which made it easy to tighten the nuts. To secure the packaging they used nylon straps which were stapled to the underside of the top. You need a good pliers to pull the staples. It looks great, seems very sturdy and we are looking forward to using the table.

Should workThe price was right. The table is basic and without any special details. The table top is OK, and I plan to use a tablecloth.I got this because the table I have is too large. The table I ordered was a return offered at a lower price. It looked OK when I unpacked it. I put it together to make sure it was right, then had to take it apart again to transport it to another house. That’s when I noticed a crack in the top, starting from where the screws are attached to the hinges of the drop leaf. I hadn’t noticed it before, so I don’t know when it happened. I was in a time crunch, so I repaired the top, and I think it will work. Just buyer beware. – And keep all the packing in some semblance of order in case of return.

Christmas Present well receivedBought this for the SO for Christmas as she’s been wanting a small table like this for the dining room for a while. Table is well made and hinges are smooth. Folds up well nice. No complaints.
