Very Nice TableThis is a very tall table – 42 inches high. I purchased this table to use as a desk, to set it next to a window that has a 36″ sill. This window is on a 2nd floor loft and this window has a view. I have a swivel, high-backed bar stool ordered to go with the table so I can sit high and look out at the landscape. If I did not know, then because of the color and the weight of the wood used in this table, I would have assumed that this was a piece of American Hardwood. I’m glad that it’s not. If it was, it would have cost a whole lot more. Yes, the table top looks like, and is, butcher block – but it is beautifully done. I don’t know if the two saw blade cuts on the bottom were done on purpose, but they show the depth of the grain of the wood used – verifying that it is solid, even though it is in many pieces and glued together. It is very well done. The legs were very easy to install. There was a rough patch or two that will easily come out with a bit more sanding. ‘ll probably just rub an oil based finish on it and let time do the rest. My only concern is that the length of the legs make the table wobble a bit – so additional bracing is needed – down at the bottom that braces the two pairs of side legs and then an additional brace farther up bracing the two back legs – at a height that one can put their feet on. Which I’ll do with extra long dowel rods. Overall – is a very nice piece of furniture.
