Nearly impossible to build the chairsIt took me far too long to put this together because I had to keep taking breaks while screwing on the chair legs. It feels like the screws are way too big. I had a screw driver that fit no problem but it took everything I had to tighten them. I have blisters on my thumb and the palm of my hands and I also rubbed my knuckle raw and bled all over the bottom of the chair.I admit, I scoffed at the reviews where people said they struggled and thought it must have been something they were doing. Those reviews are no joke – there’s something very wrong with the hardware. I even tried backing one of my screws out to reseat it and the metal thing inside the chair leg came out with it. I wish I had gone out and bought proper sized hardware before putting it together because half of the heads are so stripped there’s no way I’m taking this thing apart. And tightening the screws as they loosen over time is going to be impossible.Aside from that, I did manage to get all the screws tightened. And there was absolutely no damage to the table or chairs. My daughter (15.5 months) loves it. We were going to wait for her playroom to be done before we bought it but we couldn’t say no to the price. So now it sits in our kitchen lol

Awesome desk for kidsI bought this for my six year-old daughter. The first one that we got was damaged and couldn’t be assembled. The second one (thank you Amazon Customer Service) was not damaged, and my daughter LOVES it. It’s just her size, has a chair for a friend, and has plenty of storage for her treasures and supplies.

Sturdy for older preschoolers.I got this for my grandson. He is just three and I think it will be a better fit when he is a bit older. He loves it and uses it but both the table and chairs are a tad too high. (He’s fiftieth percentile, just as a guide.)

CHAIR FIXTURE SCREWS ARE WRONG AND IF ITS NOT DELIVERED BROKEN YOUR OK JUST BUY M6 BOLTS FOR CHAIRSSo my box was delivered damaged .. after reading majority of the REAL reviews I KNEW there would definitely be damage to the item .. upon opening I found one of the chairs damaged but not enough to not be able to use it . TABLE ASSEMBLY WAS PRETTY SIMPLE .. moving on to the chairs the screws provided will not screw all the way in to the single legs at the front so you are left with floppy chair legs the back will screw in eith a mini screwdriver .. SO IMPOSSIBLE TO SCREW THE FRONT LEGS WITH THE PROVIDED SCREWS BUT THAT BEING SAID I TOOK MY CHAIR BASE AND LEG TO HOME DEPOT AND GOT MY SELF M6 SCREWS (8 needed) THAT DID THE JOB. It’s defo not worth the amount they are charging but that being said my girls love it and will be doing homework & arts n crafts on it inshaAllah .

Sturdy, quality materialJust assembled it and it’s pretty easy to put together. All holes align really well and the bolts and table material are very sturdy. I’m a large guy and I could probably stand on the table and chairs without them budging. And there was particular attention that it could be put together with large bolts without the need for additional washers (less little parts). Can’t wait for the little one to come home and test it out!

Faulty screws for the chairsThe desk I was able to put together no problem, but the chairs have to wait for another day. The 16 screws meant to put them together wont work, the metal is too soft and strips easy. I managed to put the screws in most of the way, but about a quarter inch away from being done, on every chair leg, I was met with resistance that I could not surpass without damaging the product. I have to make a trip to home depot to replace the 16 screws with bolt tops, as trying to fit a philips head screwdriver in that small a space was also a futile effort, hoping i’ll have an easier time with a torque wrench. So to summarize, the desk itself is great for a my 5yr old. The chairs? Extra work required or buy different chairs. Hope this review helps someone with their desk hunting.

Cosmetic Damage & Broken Trim, Shocking for a Melissa and Doug itemThis table is CUUUTE! But man the chairs are super hard to put together! My hand HURTS. The table came damaged some how with cracking & what looks like warping, and the bottom trim piece on the shelving came off some how. I tried to screw it back in, but the piece won’t stay on at all now. I reached out for a refund due to the broken pieces, but I don’t want a FULL refund bc it took so long to put together, but I also don’t think it’s right to charge full price for damaged items. All in all: this piece is sturdy as heck but came damaged. That seems to be an ongoing theme in the comments, which is odd for a Melissa and Doug item that’s pricey!

Broken, pieces came assembled incorrectly. Chairs awfulDeducted some stars for two reasons. First, a piece came broken (see photos). It’s purely cosmetic but still, it doesn’t look like I’m the first customer so have this issue either based on other reviews.Second, these chairs are insanely hard to assemble. I wasn’t even able to get the screws in all the way and I went at it for over an hour, shredded my hands and used profanity. The clearance is super short so you will need a small screwdriver and the brute force of a mid-size army. And probably some luck. Might have to buy different chairs for this table but I’ll see how they hold up half screwed in I guess? The desk itself is great, easy to assemble, super sturdy and big, great for crafts and I love the paper roll function. It has great shelving to store items as well. Overall pretty happy with the purchase.Overall desk: 4/5 stars for broken pieceOverall chairs: -a million/10 for stripping me of my dignity and my patience

Love, love, love!I absolutely love this table! It is perfect for my two year old with lots of life as he grows. Allows me to organize supplies and store them for our different crafts. The whole set is very sturdy. Holds adults just fine, so we can craft with our kiddo. The assembly was easy, and had great instructions. Arrived in perfect condition! Very satisfied. Would recommend to anyone!

Very well packed I’m very pleased with my table. This table has been the most pleasing to unpack no foam residue to vacuum after assembling, they used paper to wrap all the parts and tape to hold and cardboard, no white foam😊 and I loved it. I wish I would have recorded it. Table was easy to assemble, chairs to me was a bit challenging, even though all there was is to put the legs and oala. I do recommend this product it’s real wood and it feels sturdy. Yes my kids already painted and made a mess but it was easy to clean. I have bought a lot of stuff from Amazon and let me tell you, by far this and another furniture to me have been the best most exciting to assemble you’ll love it the minute you open the box. Thank you Melissa and Doug.
