A Too Expensive and Too Warm Alternative To a Latex Mattress TopperI had a Talalay latex mattress topper for many years. I loved the springiness and how it slept cool. It served me well for almost 10 years.Earlier this year I got a new mattress and retired the Talalay topper. My new mattress is a hybrid and after 6 months I was wishing I had gotten an all foam mattress. Rather than replace it, I decided to try this memory foam topper as sort of an extension of the memory foam top layer of my mattress in the hope that the springs would not be noticeable. This topper arrived compressed and rolled up inside of a plastic tarp like material inside of a large box.The box itself was awkward for me to handle, which wasn’t a surprise to me. Once opened the rolled up topper was a bit difficult to remove. It would benefit greatly from some type of handle on the compression wrapper so the topper could easily be pulled out of the box.Once out of the box I was able to carry it upstairs alone, open the wrapper (scissors required), and lay it out on the mattress with no assistance. I’m no Wonder Woman of bodily strength, so this was the biggest positive for me: the Talalay topper took two people to move.It “inflated” pretty quickly. The first thing I noticed is that the foam has a weird grainy type debris all over the edges and bottom. Little flecks of darker material. This topper doesn’t have the smooth density of most gel infused foams. It doesn’t feel like it is gel infused. It feels and looks like an aged low density foam. On a positive note there was no horrid odor. There is no substantial “zoning”. The majority of the depth and density of the foam is the same from end to end. The only variation is in the pattern of the shallow top layer. There is no cover. Now, I don’t know how you were raised to make a bed, but in my world a mattress pad/protector is always used atop the mattress. In this case, on top of the topper. After all why would you risk staining anything you can’t toss into the washer? If it had a washable cover I could skip the mattress protector. I had used my Talalay topper with a mattress pad/protector and it still slept pleasantly cool. With this topper I am laying here right now under a ceiling fan with the AC on. Every part of me that is touching the bed is uncomfortably too warm. This didn’t happen with my mattress without a topper. It didn’t happen with my Talalay topper. It’s happening now with the only variable being the Molecule topper. It’s making me grumpy and miserable. Argh. The topper itself is soft. Not medium density. I lay in it and sink into it with the edges around me noticeably higher than the depression I’m in. The warmer it gets, the more I sink down. While I am uncomfortably warm (so much so I may remove it until winter and try again), the foam gully I feel like I’m sleeping in is uncomfortable and results in pain when I sleep on my back for long. It does help relieve pressure points when sleeping on my side. Fortunately I sleep on my side more often than not.I fail to understand why this topper is priced as expensively as a Talalay topper. It doesn’t offer any discernible to me premium features. It doesn’t even have a cover.

Description describes firmness as medium, but I consider it soft. Comfy, IF u don’t want a firm bed. One of the other reviewers mentioned their topper arriving dirty and with specks on it. Although I know nothing about the dirt, I can say THE SPECKS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE THERE; they are a part of the special ‘technology’ used.I did NOT notice any sort of odor, which is good. These are my two biggest disappointments:1. I cannot get it to stay put; it keeps gradually sliding over one of the long edges of my mattress — meaning the side I enter and exit (the other side of my bed is against the wall.)2. It does NOT keep me cooler. I have been using this for 3 or 4 nights, and have continued to wake up from being overly hot and sweaty. That said, I do live in Florida, and it stays awfully hot and humid the majority of the year. So perhaps the cooling effect works better for people living in areas with cooler temps.I was frankly confused by the booklet that was enclosed (seen in my pics) because it describes how to put on the cover, yet one was not included. There is also no mention of being able to purchase a cover separately. The only fabric that was included is some sort of very thin white material that is not sewn around the edges, and does not include a zipper, snaps, nor velcro. There was no mention of the white fabric in the booklet. I eventually decided its only purpose must be to keep the foam from sticking to itself while rolled up for shipping. If you watch my video, you will see that the foam DOES spring back… slowly, but surely.I like it, but don’t love it.I will probably end up taking it off my bed, due to the movement (off the bed), as mentioned above. It has only been a few days, and I’m already annoyed by this issue.I will, however, keep the topper for use in the future, in case I have more visitors than I have beds.I suspect it would work very well on the floor. Otherwise, it’s a bit too soft for my liking.

First impression…fun to touch! Update: too warm and soft. This review is regarding the unpacking of this product. Updates will be made as we put this topper to the test.Out of the packaging the looks of it is strange. So compacted and deformed! After few minutes, it decompress and you can feel and test over and over what it’s means to have a memory foam topper. (See video).I chose this topper to see if I could extend the time to change my mattress.I was also interested on the cooling aspect of the description.Additionally I am intrigued by the softness of it, since I prefer really firm mattresses. As I say before, I will make updates regarding those characteristics.Update: For my husband and I this product made the bed too hot to be comfortable. It is also too soft. We don’t feel that supported our bodies at all. Also after 15 days, there is still a fainted smell from when it was in the box. Just not for us.

Thick and plush memory foam topperThis went on a guest room bed. It is good quality memory foam. It regained its shape quickly after unpacking it from the vacuum seal. It didn’t have a bad smell as some toppers can have (airing out for a day always cures that problem). I will say this is more on the plush side. It should work very well for those looking to add softness to a hard mattress. Size wise, it is spot on for our queen size guest bed.

It was so low to the ground I never realized and upon trying to revamp the room and decorate it I saw this and ordered it thinking it’ll at least make that bad softer however when it arrived and fully unfolded and fluffed out I realize just how much depth it added to the bedroom and the bed itself it is soooo incredibly comfortable I can’t rave about it enough
