The linen upholstery comes in your choice of mustard or navy, and includes a tufted back and stitched piping that round out the impressive look—as well as a solid wood frame for the utmost in support. The tapered wooden legs add an extra bit of flair, plus center feet ensure the sofa bed is always stable and comfortable. We’ve also added padding under all the legs to keep your floors looking like new. Thanks to its split back, the Novogratz futon allows you and a guest to sit up or lounge back for your ideal comfort level. Just put both sides flat at night to create an extremely welcoming space for your guests to tuck in and spend the night.

Missing part but very happy otherwise!I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of this futon, especially for the price. Very firm, sturdy, and attractive. It’s heavy to lift so beware if you have stairs. Assembly was pretty easy and directions were straight forward. Only thing was one of the legs was missing a pad. I had to improvise to avoid scratching my floor. Otherwise, I am really happy with the product and would recommend.

Perfect for tiny space city lifeThe color is very pretty. This is perfect for small space living. I can fit on it comfortably, but I’m only 5 feet tall. It folds out to a full size (just a little shorter then a regular full size). It’s easy to assemble and easily folds out to a bed. The legs for the bed are inside easy to open zipper storage in the back and fold out like a card table. It’s sturdy and firm and I use it to sit on as part of my office/living space. For comfort to sleep when family visits, I add a 2 inch memory foam topper and a synthetic down mattress cover, which I roll up and store underneath when not using.

Well designed, compact and sturdyThis sofa sleeper works well in a small room, replacing an old, worn out foldout sleeper sofa with one of those awkward steel mesh mechanism with an uncomfortable thin coil mattress that folded down into the bottom of the sofa and was super-heavy. This sofa arrived in a single box, which I needed help moving into the room, but once it was there, I was able to fairly easily unpack and lift the various components. It assembled relatively easy, though you should use a ratchet or electric screwdriver for screwing on the legs, and be patient in lining up the openings and starting the screwing process by hand. As has been mentioned in other reviews, the sofa padding, both in sofa-mode and bed-platform mode, is extremely firm, but I consider that a “plus”, as it makes for a firm, non-sinking place to sit when in sofa-mode, which is the vast majority of its intended use. And, I the firmness will help this piece of furniture withstand the test-of-time, and not sag or get imprints of body parts on the sofa seat areas. One aspect that wasn’t really spelled-out clearly in the assembly flyer in the box…Seems obvious now, but there are foldout legs, easy to unfolds, in zippered compartments behind the seatbacks that support the sofa back when it is deployed in a flat position. Be sure to unzip and fold these out before flattening! Also really weirdly, it didn’t mention anywhere I saw the details of physical action you need to take to flatten the sofa. You need to pull the each of the two part sofa backs forward a bit – kind of counter-intuitive – and then you can hear the latch release, and you can flatten the sofa back down to the floor. Again, don’t forget to fold out those legs in the zipper compartments. The yellow color we ordered is a bit different, but we have hardwood floors and the color seems to work with the wood color, and in general brightens up the small room a bit.

Once assembled, 5 stars!First impression was NOT good! There were holes in the box and I could see the upholstery. Sofa is SNUG in the box and I had to basically destroy the box to remove it, so I hoped there was no damage or else I’d never get it back in the box to return. As other reviewers said, the legs & screws are in a zippered compartment at under the seat — very clever! But, on the journey from China, the edges of the metal legs wore through the screw packaging and the fabric backing of the frame. 8 of the 16 screws escaped into the upholstery. In searching for them, encountered sharp wires and splinters. My husband cut his hand and we still only recovered 4 screws. Fortunately, we have a stash of screws from other projects, so we could assemble with 4 for each leg. I was able to tighten with the Allen wrenches provided, but one screw on each leg needed a little extra attention for alignment. When we flipped it right side up (definitely a two person job), we were really pleased — though we did drag just a few inches to get into place and one of the pads on the legs tore off. The seat is just the right amount of firm for me and my 6’ 4” husband napped on it! Time will tell, but right now, I’m pretty satisfied with my $270 sofa!

great but recieved the wrong color and styleit took 1 person maybe 15 mins to assemble. i just wish i had gotten the mustard color i ordered rather than blue. It took me too long to figure out that I also received the wrong style but it’s already set up so it stays.

Works well for my purposesI bought it to go in my kid’s playroom to have some adult seating. For those purposes, it works well. It is comfortable and sturdy enough. I can’t speak to sleeping on it. I also love the color as it is a dark blue, but not quite a true navy, which is exactly what I was hoping for. I think my photo captures the color well. Assembly was easy and it came well packed, but I do want to echo what someone else said about the potential for the middle portion of the seat to bend during assembly/moving and cause issues where the middle legs are. So, just be cautious of that.

Very Happy!I’m 52 years old. I spent my twenties sleeping on futons so I have no complaints about the comfort. If you’ve never slept or sat on a futon, you need to know, futons are very firm. I put it together in around half an hour. It was more difficult getting it out of the box. I LOVE the style (retro 50’s and 60’s). It’s larger than I expected. It’s very sturdy. It’s simple to put together. This is not a boring piece of furniture and will liven up and brighten up any room. Be careful when opening the box it comes in. It’s packed very tightly and you could cut into the fabric.

Wish I Liked This Sleeper Sofa/FutonWhile many gave it good reviews, I cannot. It was quoted as being sturdy, it is, BUT, whatever the cushions are made of, they are not firm enough. Within 6 months, the seats cushions began to ” cave in”. Maybe it is memory foam, I do not see a seat filling description, but, I am disappointed that this has happened. 1 year later, I have to buy a new sofa.

Great little couchEasy to assemble once you get all the parts. Not sure why people are commenting about the middle legs not lining up with holes. There aren’t holes in the couch, you just screw the small ones in the holes of the metal bracket and it all fits just fine. No need for impact drivers or anything else lol. I had to go to the hardware store for 5 missing leg screws. In case you need some too, the larger size is 1.25 x 25 mm metric socket cap screws from HD. Amazon customer service was more than excellent with a partial refund for the trouble. It’s not the most comfy to sit on so far, but I mainly just needed the pop of color and an occasional extra couple seats/bed for guests. Actually came in 2 days vs. another couch I tried to buy off Amazon that said it shipped but lied because Amazon refunded and said it wasn’t even in stock. Beware right now with COVID, furniture is hard to get shipped. I went with this since it was sold and shipped from Amazon.
