The Stig –
Fantastic chair.I am really loving this chair. I’ve had it for a couple weeks now and I finally put my other chair out in the garage. I’ve been looking for a replacement since the back on my old one was starting wear out but its been hard to find a replacement. I see they have lowered the price from $379 to $300 on this chair since I got it. I was going to say I feel like its slightly expensive but now at a $300 price point I think its a great buy. The seat cushion is very comfortable and should last a long time, its the same style as the one I’ve used 12 hours a day at work for 4 years and that one hasn’t even started to wear out. The back is the best part, the lumbar support is perfect. It took me a day to figure out how to properly sit in the chair for maximum comfort but once I got it, man its good. sit as far back on the seat as possible, your back should kind of wrap around the lumbar support, if you sit forward on the seat you’ll just be leaning back on the lumbar support and not really getting the support you need and it wont be as comfortable. The seat slides forward and back so you can find the perfect position. The back has plenty of tension and its almost like magic, the tension feels the same all the way back, it doesn’t really get tighter as you lean further, then wherever you stop it just magically holds that position until you lean forward. I am about 230lb so maybe if you are half my weight the back tension might be too much, but for anyone close to 200lb its perfect. I also really like the color scheme on this one, ads a bit of flash to my otherwise all black desk setup. I did upgrade the wheels to some inline skate style casters, I started using these on my old chair because they roll over carpet way better than the standard plastic wheel. That being said, the included wheels look and feel solid I’m sure you wouldn’t have any issues with them. The arm rests have a big range of adjustability up and down. They are padded but they aren’t soft like the seat cushion, at first they look and feel like plastic, but they have just enough give to not be uncomfortable. I have the arms on for now, but I play guitar so I usually take the arms off of my desk chairs since it makes it easier to hold the guitar at the desk for recording. My only real gripe is that I wish the chair had a lower low setting. The seat goes down enough for normal use but I like having it extra low when playing guitar. The upgraded wheels I put on probably raised it up a little, but definitely less than 1″. It seems like the legs have a higher angle than most office chair legs and I think this is what makes it sit a little higher than others. This is pretty minor but if you are pretty short it might be a deal breaker. Overall I’m very happy with this chair and I plan for this to be my primary office chair for at least the next few years.
