    Issues with refund + reason for returnI don’t typically leave reviews — especially bad ones — but in this particular case, I have no other option but to do so. I’m an Amazon Prime member & have been using Amazon for years. I have also been returning items that I am unsatisfied with [for good reason] using the same free method for years. I use the Amazon app to request a call. I speak with a representative who initiates the return. I explain the reason for the return (typically the item(s) are defective in some manner). And when asked how I want to make the return, I always choose the option for the return to be picked up. A totally free option, I might add, meaning there are no return fees involved (otherwise I wouldn’t bother choosing it).Again, I know this to be the case because I’ve been doing this for YEARS without a problem. With this is mind, I initiated a return with an Amazon rep named Alex M via phone call. When prompted, I answered all questions pertaining to why the item was being returned. Towards the end of the call, upon checking my email for the return details, I noticed a discrepancy. The email was showing an incorrect Estimated Refund Amount. For instance, if the item was purchased for 17.99, it was saying the return would be 2.93. This was the case for several of the items — something I discovered after checking their corresponding emails, too. To say that I was confused, is an understatement. I immediately brought this to Alex’s attention, and he claimed that he would take a look. Rather than do so and help me, he chose to hang up the call instead.I was forced to go into the Amazon app yet again, and request another phone call. The next rep I spoke to was David Q. David was very pleasant and upon explaining the situation to him, he apologized for the confusion and what I had dealt with. He then proceeded to go through every single item with a problem in an attempt to figure out where the discrepancy was stemming from. During the course of this conversation, I asked him – – just as I had asked Alex – – if there was some type of fee involved that I was not aware of that was causing the discrepancy in numbers. The answer was no. Again, note that every item that I had ordered came with free shipping and free returns; there was no mention of any fees involved should I decide to return said items. In fact, that’s something I always look for when ordering an item; if there are return fees involved, I don’t bother making the purchase and look for an alternative. And again, I always make returns the same exact way – – by calling Amazon to request a return, and then choosing the option of having the item picked up by the courier of choice because it is a FREE option.Now, continuing on: David literally went through every single item, and told me what the correct refund amount should be. David determined that the discrepancy could likely be attributed to a glitch in the system. He then sent me an email detailing the contents of our call and listing the correct refund amount that I should receive for all of the items that were problematic. He assured me that everything would be OK and noted that the email could be used as a reference point should any other issues arise.The next day, UPS came to pick up the returns and everything went pretty smoothly. Hours later, as I was checking the Amazon app, and looking into the return status of one of the items, I noticed that the return amount was incorrect. It was saying the same thing that was inside of the email that I had received that was problematic. I checked all the other returns and it was the same thing. I immediately was alarmed and reached out to Amazon the same way that I always do — through the app by requesting a call. I explained the situation to the first rep that I spoke to, and she too was confused. Eventually I was passed along to another rep, and eventually was passed on to another rep after being hung up on again. Ultimately, I was told several things that were clearly not in line with what I was told by the other rep that I spoke to named David. First, I was told that there were return fees involved when I made the return using the same method that I always use — a method that is free, I might add again. Also note: I had explicitly asked all reps if there are any fees involved that could be causing this discrepancy in numbers, and everyone said no. After blaming it on the UPS pick up return fees, I was then told that the reason why I was being charged was not just the pick up fees, but because of the reason that I listed. As a reminder, I did not personally make a list myself as I was talking to an Amazon rep. That Amazon rep that I spoke to initially – – Alex, who as a reminder hung up on me – – asked me about every single item that I was returning, and I provided him with reason for each return – – that being defective, spilled, etc. You can imagine how befuddled I was by the situation at this point. Because now I was essentially being told that the reasons I had given Alex were not even written in the system. I don’t know if this was the truth or a lie that was being told to simply get me off the phone as quickly as possible. Either way, I am now stuck in a situation in which I’ve made a return, using my usual free method, provided the details requested, and did everything right, just to be treated unfairly by numerous Amazon associates. If I’d been told (when I’d explicitly asked) that making a return, with my usual method of choice would result in a barely partial refund, I would’ve opted for a different method. Had I known that the rep, Alex, had allegedly not been taking down any notes (and putting whatever he wanted to put down as my reason for return), I would’ve immediately stopped the transaction and requested that it be reversed.To be frank, I’m really taken aback and with the interactions I had with the Amazon representatives, as well as anyone else perpetuating this toxic exchange. I was undermined, dismissed, and lied about and to. The experience has certainly left a bad taste in my mouth as I am overwhelmingly saddened by it this all. And the worst part, is that I shop at Amazon all the time. I was as pleasant as possible to the associates involved. I did my due diligence & asked the right questions to ensure that we were all on the same page. And yet, I am stuck dealing with this mess. I even tried asking for a replacement for one of the items, (while on the phone with Alex just to show how intentional I was about the overall situation). I’m writing this review to ensure that the merchant is aware that I have not received my full refund as expected, due to the above items — reasons beyond my control. The Amazon rep(s) that I spoke to failed to divulge pertinent information which resulted in my current predicament. No one took accountability for their actions, and instead I was made out to be the “difficult customer.” I was hung up on multiple times even though all I wanted was clarification, an understanding of a situation that made no sense considering the circumstances, and my full refund. I even tried asking for the items back since they couldn’t give me my full refund. The answer was no. No, they couldn’t issue a full refund. They couldn’t tell me when this new policy pertaining to UPS return pick up fees had arose. And they provided conflicting information regarding my interactions with previous reps. Overall, this has been a bad experience. At this point, it’s time for my Amazon prime membership to end.P.S. This particular product was returned because as I was unwrapping it, I noticed areas with chips and discovered that pieces of the chair was coming off. Despite that, I continued to unwrap it because I had so been looking forward to this beautiful item. Unfortunately, while inspecting the leather on the back of the chair, I noticed a problem (i.e., a sort of rough, odd patch).

    Amazing chair, Better then expected!These chairs (I purchased four) are magnificent. They are sturdy and super comfortable. There is nothing to assemble, just unpack and enjoy. About the packing, it will take a while to unpack because every part is wrapped to protect the beautiful wood. I’m very pleased.

    Great accent chair!It took me a few days. Scrolled through tons of accent chair pics looking for a mid century/modern design and finally came across this one. The price was more than I was looking to spend but I felt the Safavieh brand was reliable and the all black color was a nice contrast with my decor. The box was heavy! Unpacking is never fun but it all came assembled, so no tools required. Be very careful cutting the wrapping, they do a great job with packaging but I ended up nicking a tiny piece of the wood using the box cutter to cut the wrapping. It’s not noticeable to the eye so I’m ok with that. It’s also sturdy as a rock and comfy to sit on, a tad low but that’s the design. Delivery was quick so for the price and fast delivery, it was worth it!

    it is very-vary large!I love it – it has good quality and it is much large than I expected. I decided to keep it and put in my master bedroom since it is large, but it turned out to be too large for our keeping area where I wanted to put it

    Great leather chairs snd no assemblyWow great chair for the patio and by my glass doors too. It is perfect by my 4 French doors because the outdoors are very seen well. Chairs are ‘transparent enough’ to enjoy my patio pool area. I love the comfy seating with my wine. Comfy and nice to look at. Chic!
