Sturdy and Made in the USA – Take your time putting togetherLike many, I first bought 2 of the Shoal Creek nightstands and was so impressed with them that I bought the dresser, too. The dresser, as shipped, is very heavy – it took 2 people to get it to where I did assembly. My advice is to take your time, use woodworking glue wherever you can (where 2 pieces butt together), and don’t use a powered screwdriver for any part of the assembly. I used a #2 phillips screwdriver, Elmers wood glue, and a small hammer – that’s all that you need. We live in a densely populated part of northern Virginia and shopped for spare bedroom furniture for several weeks before giving up and ordering this – I have no doubt that this furniture is a better value and will last much longer than anything else at or reasonably above this price-point.

dont worry be happyWe have just purchased two of these chest of drawers. My wife insisted my single days with cardboard boxes were over. They are great looking, sturdy, drawers slide with easy, With some suggestions, small but important, we are extremely happy with the units. Don’t hesitate to purchase this product!Although the shipping boxes were a little beat up on both units, the parts were safely packed and placed with absolutely no damage except a minor corner part that excellent customer service immediately sent to us a replacement at no charge . Please put large letters “Open this side” to avoid flipping around to find the front of a very heavy boxThe predrilled holes for fastening are positioned exactly where they belong.The system of packing small screws etc was neat and easy to locate and keep track of with numbers on each partConcerning the instructions, they were very easy to follow. Don’t worry…take your time. Best a two person job and several pots of coffee hahaSome suggestions:1. A colored highlight should be placed on the page when starting to tighten the “twist lock fasteners.” There is a scary breaking cracking sound at the beginning of tightening, but not to worry,2. The “slide cams” were a mystery. What do they do? Does the x have to be totally visible when complete? Please be specific. I finally got it after real life thinking.3. Perhaps you could spend a few more bucks and completely cover the back of the chest with lightweight wood, rather than cardboard. Sliding along a floor into place even with casters brings on a slight sway that may get more pronounced with multiple moves. A smooth slide works now, but I wonder about other future moves.Do it, buy a dozen., You won’t be sorry

Great for nurseryIt’s a $170 dresser off Amazon. It’s prefect for what we need it for and is actually great quality for the price! It’s very sturdy and will hold clothes just fine. If you follow the instructions it’s not that hard to put together.

No drawer safety featureLike many other reviews, there is some sort of ding, scratch, knick, dent, crack, damage when received so just know you’re not going to get a set of drawers without flaws if you purchase this one. The main disappointment for me was not having the safety stops that allow only one drawer to be open at a time to prevent kids from climbing. I guess this is the wrong dresser manufacturer but my sister had one exactly like this that came with that ability.

A good buy.This is a good product. There are MANY parts and pieces to assemble. But doable. The one “surprise”….part of the back is cardboard…very thin Cardboard! Otherwise very happy with this dresser.It was shipped promptly and arrived before the expected delivery date.

Great purchaseVery heavy and sturdy. Love the wood color. A few parts were missing and front drawer panel was scratched but Sauder replaced everything quickly. Very good customer service and product.

Nice dresserThis dresser is really nice, sturdy and gives enough room for clothes. I actually really like it. Only thing is that when I opened the box the top part of the dresser was already chipped. It did take a little bit to assemble. Overall, I would say get it but definitely check for those scratches and dents. We kept it but just laid some pretty material on top of it to hide it.

Good storage, fragile finishOnce assembled, drawers work good. Assembly instructions fairly good, but ambiguous steps leave you open to putting some pieces on wrong and require disassembly to correct. Mine had numerous dents and abrasions on several parts, including the top. It took 3 1/2 hours to assemble carefully. I called their easy to reach customer service and they happily replaced the top in 3 days free. Good value for the money.

not real wood, its ‘manufactured’ pressed wood. Instructions missed a few steps.I’ve bought Sauder before and was pleased. I saw this was ‘wood’. Surprised to see it was pressed, manufactured. There’s a few missing steps in the instruction book. If you follow step by step it’s not bad. Two big complaints is the left side of the top doesn’t meet the side. You can see there’s a small gap. The second is a flimsy cardboard back, the top half is cardboard, the lower is more sturdy pressed wood. I would have given more stars if the description didn’t say ‘wood’ when it should say manufactured pressed wood. It is a little darker than in the picture, plus the sides and bottom of the drawers are a light oak color, the back support to the drawer can be whatever wood colors they have extra of (I called Sauder and asked why isn’t it ‘wood’ and why 3 different colors). For the price it’s okay.
