Standing desk with no clunky unit to get in the way when seated. Brilliant!The only standing desk I’ve used before involved a clunky unit on top of my work desk — great when standing, but in the way when seated. This desk solves that in spades. Other than a very small gap between the sections, it’s just a regular desk. And then, presto, part of the desk lifts up and I’m standing! It’s a great design. I’ve been using it for a couple of months now in my home office (thanks COVID) and have already recommended it to friends who are in the same boat.Putting it together took some commitment, but whoever wrote the instructions has a great sense of humor. I really appreciated the laughs along the way. I definitely felt a sense of accomplishment when I got to the finish line.Thanks, Sauder, for exceeding my expectations.

Missing pieces, mis-aligned pre-drilled holes, but sturdyThe top drawer’s predrilled holes for the rails are too high on the right side and won’t allow the drawer to shut. Also, it was missing 2 of the three brackets that help hold the inside together. Other than that, it seems ok. You do have to have it in the FULL upright position to keep it from closing on its own though. If you are short, you won’t want this desk. Luckily I’m y’all and the locked position is fine for my height.

Not That EasyRe: Sauder Shoal Creek ‘Lift Top’ Desk. First remember; it’s only ‘Pressed Wood’. Not real wood, like other furniture we’ve bought from Amazon. Then it comes in 40+ pieces? Real job to put together. Finally, never gotten the ‘Lift Top’ to work.Pros: Shelf under RH Drawer, perfect for Dell, Asus, small footprint PC.

The wood material was low quality and already showed signs of wear in the boxThe edges of all the pieces are white-ish the wood color already off, and several scratches on the top of the pieces, despite the fact that the box looked new.

Good quality and value for moneyExcellent desk. The mechanism seems strong and reliable. I have used it for 2 months now and happy with it. The assembly instructions are well written and easy to follow, which a sprinkling of humor. All assembly manuals should be written this way!

Overall great desk.All in all the desk is great. There are a few minor flaws. The small drawer had a few nicks on it and couldn’t close, after about a week of playing with it does close easily. The lift feature can be slightly scary and a little heavy however once you’ve lifted it a few times you get how it needs to be done. But again all in all it’s a nice piece of furniture that makes my office look classy.

Nice piece of furniture once assembled.It took several hours to assemble but is straightforward if you follow the nearly 100 page assembly instructions. It is working well in my daughter’s small one bedroom one bath apartment. It is very sturdy and heavy once assembled.
