This is the honest review.I just finished putting this desk together.Let’s do the cons first:1. I didn’t plan on a 5 hour assembly adventure, but that’s what I got.2. The time really added up when I had to assemble the drawers. The drawer instructions are written poorly and are confusing. They are labeled cabinet right, left. Exactly what is the cabinet? It’s not defined anywhere. It would have been much better to label them inside desk left and right because that’s what they are. There are 4 of these and that makes multiple combinations of mistakes you can make trying to figure out what goes where in the cabinet, drawers, left side or right side. Add 90 minutes to assembly time to stumble upon the right combination. The instructions should have labeled the drawer railings A,B,C,D, etc and showed in the diagram where rail A goes and so forth. That would have made this so much better.3. The drawers are rather small. They don’t hold a lot and you won’t be able to put files into the bottom drawers if that is what you’re looking for. I just needed a smaller desk for my desktop computer and some paper and pens and a drawer for my bills and this was good for that.PROS:1. This is a sturdy desk and will last as many years as I want it to and it looks good.2. Made in USA and the quality is much better some of the China things I have experienced.3. Packaged really well. All parts there. Shipping was Amazon fast.Would I recommend or buy again? Yes.Just be prepared to spend your Saturday with your new desk. I put it together on a crummy weather day, so nothing lost there.

Nice looking desks!As others have said, the completed desk is worth it in the end! We bought one and struggled to put it together – all our fault. I needed to not only read the directions, but also pay close attention to the pictures. I had to call once to Sauder, again my fault, and the rep was very responsive. A couple of weeks later, we decided to order another desk, so we had matching desks. Second time putting it together was much easier, and even then, I made some mistakes, but we completed it in half the time as the first. Interestingly, we had a problem with one handle on each desk. Sauder was very responsive and replaced them right away.The desk drawers were very easy to adjust, which really impressed me. I like the way the file drawers are side facing, not front facing. They hold a lot of files and can be adjusted for letter or legal size. We are happy with our purchase and highly recommend.Last words of advice: Allocate a significant amount of time to put the desk together so you do not feel rushed; pay very close attention to the directions and the pictures – they are well written directions; and call Sauder if you need help, but they are only available during the week. Enjoy your finished product!

Amazing QualityThis desk was much better than I expected. Yes, you have to assemble it- but it is well laid out and easy to follow. It just takes time. But the quality- amazing! It is strong and sturdy and beautiful. I would buy this again in a second.

Nice desk but…Easy to read and understand instructions till you get to attaching the top. I could not get all 10 studs to line up at once so I put top on floor and installed frame and drawers upside down.

8/10This desk is very nice, sturdy and functional. I will say it was a semi-pain to put together. I normally don’t have assembly problems but this one got me a little. Once done though, it’s the perfect addition.

Sturdy and nice!I am always a bit skeptical buying furniture online, but I needed a desk for working at home and found this. It is sturdy and doesn’t seem cheap at all. The drawers roll nicely, and I actually really love this desk.

Great desk!Overall, great desk!-Fast shipping-Well packaged with many extra things to protect it. But it did arrive with a finger-sized dent in the top. Just bad luck that it is right in the center where you sit. But honestly, I don’t think there was much more they could do to pack it securely. Sometimes it is just the risk you take when shipping large items like this. But honestly, I wasn’t bad enough to call the company and ask for a refund or anything.But the desk itself is really sturdy and the drawers glide nicely. Looks good and serves its purpose.

Sturdy and HeavyAlthough a pain to move the box it all came in, once put together it is a great desk. You will spend a lot time putting it together, but you will be happy with the desk when you finish. I liked it so much I ordered a dresser from the same company. It’s not solid wood, but it sure feels and looks like it.

Sturdy, nice-looking desk, with a few flawsOverall, I am very happy with this desk. It’s exactly what I was looking for for my home office and it fulfills my needs.PROS- Assembly – Despite what the other reviewers say, it was actually very easy to assemble, with all parts labeled correctly and easy-to-follow instructions. However, it was rather time-consuming — which is fine if you’re someone like me who enjoys building things!- Sturdiness – The desk is surprisingly very sturdy. I purchased another piece of Sauder furniture a year back, and it absolutely did not measure up to this desk.- Appearance – I truly do love the way that it looks. Sure, it’s not super high-quality, but it gets the job done (and you can spruce it up!).CONS- Small Top Drawers – I was VERY disappointed to get to the FINAL step, inserting the assembled drawers, to find that the two small top drawers did not fit. I am a pro at assembling/building things, so I know to never over-tighten anything, and yet, still, the drawers didn’t fit. Fortunately, I was able to store some of my book collection in the nooks, and I actually like it better than the drawers!- Large Bottom Drawers – It’s important to note that the large drawers haaardly fit either, I really had to shove them in there, and they don’t glide in/out easily. Luckily, they are usable for my storage needs. Make sure that you look up the dimensions of the large drawers as they are NOT the normal file cabinet dimensions (normal-sized files fit when placed in vertically, but not horizontally).- Packaging / Imperfections – The outer box of the package I received was in fairly good condition, but upon opening it, I saw that there were no protective barriers around/between the desk parts (huge no-no). Due to this, there were a number of scratches and chips — I had to use Gorilla Glue to fix two of the drawer slides that had completely broken off.- Shipping – Know that this doesn’t pertain to the desk itself, but given that it’s a large package that can require a scheduled delivery (pending the carrier), it may be helpful to know that the shipping process was an absolute nightmare. I scheduled deliveries 3 separate times through one carrier, and the package never arrived. It took a week of back-and-forth, 6 long calls with Amazon Support and 4 support requests directly to the carrier to finally find out that the desk was “lost in transit” — they sent me a new desk via USPS (thankfully), and it arrived very quickly thereafter.All in all, I do recommend purchasing this desk, however, I think it’s important for buyers to be aware of the potential issues. Of course, this isn’t a $750+ desk, so you shouldn’t expect perfection — if you can find creative workarounds, this will likely work for you, as it did for me! Also, highly recommend paying for the furniture protection insurance (just in case).
