Kind of a low heightI like the concept and design of this table, and it went together pretty easy. The only problem I have with it is that it is pretty low if you already have a drafting type chair. Regular computer or office chairs will work fine, but I am having to build custom legs for it to raise it up.

Instructions could be clearer- hard to understand pictures alone! We just put it together and at this point I am happy with the results . Room is not complete- therefore no pictures.

Perfect Drafting TableI put this together by myself in only a short time. The instructions were pretty easy to understand, although I made a couple of dumb mistakes like putting something on backward before realizing it wasn’t going to work. User problem! 🙂 Everything was there, and you really don’t need any other tools. Mostly, I chose this particular model because of the drawer beneath it, the flat shelf on the side for things like a palette that you don’t want to tilt, and the easy-to-clean glass, which is also a pretty blue! The glass is thick and heavy, but I wouldn’t put anything really heavy on it that would put a lot of pressure in one place. Most art materials are pretty light, but the easel is not going to have the same support that a flat desk would because it’s made to be lifted up. The easel will only lift so far, so if you want to use it for oil painting, you’ll probably want a separate easel that allows your canvas to be more perpendicular. Still, for drawing, pastels, watercolor, and even acrylics, it’s just right! I’m pleased with my decision to get this model. If I were to change ANYTHING, it would be that the drawer be a little bigger. I’m not sure if it was impossible to construct that way because of where the center bar lines up or what, but a drawer that is bigger from front to back and top to bottom (just an inch or two, deep enough to hold a sectional tray) would be nice. 🙂 However, I do like the drawer. I leave it open a few inches and put my watercolor palette and water bowl inside the drawer while I work. It’s really handy! I have not bought the height extenders. I don’t feel like I need them. Actually, I need a higher chair, because dining chair height is just a bit too short. I’m currently using a piano bench at the max height until I get a new chair, so I don’t think extenders are necessary, unless I just don’t know the benefit of them. 🙂

Very solid well made tableI purchased the blue glass, silver/gray frame desk. It was delivered quickly, without damage, and all the parts were present.Assembly: Building this desk is not for the faint of heart. There are a lot of small parts. The directions which come with it are quite good though. There is no text, just images showing how it should go together. My advice is to:1. Unpack all the parts, identify them and lay them out where you can easily see them.2. Read the instructions completely BEFORE you start building (reading them twice isn’t a terrible idea).3. There is a hardware blister pack included, instead of trying to peel the cardboard back off, use a razor or sharp scissors to cut the plastic bubble off on the top leaving the hardware in a little “cup”.4. Do exactly what the instructions show and go slow. Breathe. :D5. An electric phillips head screw driver is a nice to have.6. It’s not an awful idea to have a spare set of hands, but it can be done alone too.I put this desk together in about an hour.Once the desk is together, it is genuinely sturdy, a manageable weight and really very attractive! The top lifts up and down easily and with smooth action. I think this piece meets and even beats my expections given the relatively low price. I’m going to enjoy it for years!I’ve attached two pictures. The first is a close up of the large, but shallow drawer. It’s holding two layers of Prismacolor trays, and one more layer of pigment pens. The light (sold separately) is clipped easily to the back of the desk. The tablet stand (sold separately) easily clipped to the fold down shelf. The top can be raised and lowered without removing either accessory!

The best purchase I’ve made on Amazon in years!I have recently purchased quite a lot of furniture and home goods online, and I can tell you that this is the real deal from a company that actually has quality control and knows what it’s doing. The bolts all line up correctly with the holes, the hardware package is thoughtfully laid out, assembly is surprisingly simple for some thing that looks so impressive when it’s done.Getting this up the stairs is a team effort as the box is about 50 pounds and the UPS man refused to bring it up the stairs. Putting this together took me two hours exactly, with just one person. You will need your own full size Phillips head screwdriver as the one they supply is kind of a joke. The other tricky aspect of this is installing the drawer slides where the diagrams don’t match the physical part exactly. But these are small problems. I am extremely pleased with this table. For $180 when I got it, it’s a pretty incredible deal.By the way, and a IKEA RASKOG cart is not going to fit underneath this without table risers. Ask me how I know. I got it to fit by removing the wheels and putting risers under the extended floor levelers.

Great looking table and useful for diamond paintingPros:1. The whole glass table looks really good but you need patience and time.2. The table is sturdy after installation of crossbar3. Nice to have the extra side table4. Great table height if installed with extension legs (separately purchased)5. Handy tray/drawer for pens etcCons:1. Instructions are only in drawings and not always easy to interpret. Suggest to take note of every little details in the drawing before installing as parts are not labeled left or right or front or back.2. Customer Service is none existence. Phone calls always go to answering machine and nobody ever calls back. So if you have questions don’t bother to call them. I even tried online form. Again no reply.

Great Desk/TablePurchased this table for utility purposes. Office desk, craft table and general use. When it arrived the shipping box was a bit damaged and I was concerned that the glass top surface may have been damaged as well. Fortunately it was not. Total assembly time was about 45 minutes. The instructions can be a bit vague. This caused me repeat certain steps. The included tools do not help. I highly recommend using your own tools. I built it unassisted but a helper would been convenient. Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase and worth the cost.

This is the best drafting/writing desk I’ve found. We absolutely love it! It’s perfect.I have purchased a lot on different office products on Amazon, but this may be one of my favorite purchases ever. I started homeschooling my son in the 8th grade – one year ago – after all the nonsense that has been going on in the schools. At any rate, I needed a very functional classroom going into the 9th grade – a desk that would work for all types of different activities. My son loves art and takes art classes at our community center. This drafting table sets at a 35 degree angle but also lays flat. It has an extra side shelf which we use for my son’s drafting lamp as well as storage for pencils, pens, markers, and all kinds of drawing supplies on each side of the desk as well as a drawer underneath. It’s absolutely perfect. It’s sturdy. When we set it up, it didn’t creak or crack or shift. It’s built like a rock. I am so thankful for this purchase. I have to tell you each summer leading up to school is very stressful because I’m running around trying ot figure out curriculum for the year and how to make our homeschool room as functional as possible. This was wonderful! Thanks for making a quality desk!

I haven’t yet used it but it’s been assembled two hours and already I love it and a few of my friends have complimented …The assembly (particularly the first two steps) is a bit tricky and takes a while but totally manageable. I haven’t yet used it but it’s been assembled two hours and already I love it and a few of my friends have complimented it. I wish the pencil ledge were a little wider so it would hold a canvas more effectively but I can’t imagine it’d be terribly difficult to jimmy-rig a solution for that; otherwise, so far it appears to be a great desk! The only thing that worries me is that the side table is only tempered to hold 11 lbs (my cat is 12 lbs so if she were to jump on there, theoretically, it’s toast) but I’m sure that’s not as much of an issue as the warning label suggests and honestly, I didn’t buy this for the side table.Lost a star because of the side table and the assembly instructions; otherwise, it appears to be a great desk thus far and I look forward to breaking it in!(Also pictured: Studio Designs swinging arm lamp. Would recommend as well if you need a good lamp)

Great table, minor improvements neededI have been very happy with the table so far. assembly was relatively easy, very sturdy, and looks good. the only improvement I can see are:1. tray size could have been a bit bigger, and deeper2. some easy way on the top or side to mount/attach any LED lampWhen you attach the bracket which stops the glass on the bottom, maybe you want to leave it a little protruding, it helps me in keeping the paper/drawing pad from slipping down.Overall very good value for the money.
