One drawback …I love the headboard – there aren’t many this tall on Amazon. However – we had been using a platform bed – without a box spring – and this frame had only 3 wood crossmembers and nothing else to support the mattress.A quick run to Home Depot to buy a 4×8 sheet of particle board – cut it into 3 strips – placed it on the crossmembers and then put the mattress on the frame.I just wish I’d known in advance so I could have been prepared.

Great bed, but smelly for a week.This was a much better value buying here rather than from the Ashley store. And it came in just a few days rather than months!! It was packaged very well, everything was inside the headboard. My 20 year old said it was simple for him to put together himself. The vacuum cannot go under the bed which I do not love but it looks very nice in his room. Very cushiony, tall headboard. However, it smelled the whole entire house up for a week after he put it together. Like SO BAD!! I guess it’s the glue or something based on my research because it was alarming when I first smelled it in our newly rebuilt home. Surely there is some other kind of glue that could be used to assemble furniture that doesn’t smell like that, a cross between something is dead and something is on fire!! I was threatening to drag it to the burn pile for a few days and took a star away because of it(I’m being generous because that week I would have given it 1 star). The smell finally disappeared (after 2 bottles of febreeze, a constant fan and open window)and he loves it. The bed rails that the box spring sits on are very low so I would recommend a full size box spring rather than a low profile one like he bought, and at least a 10 inch mattress. (Check out the 12 inch Vibe!) Over all, a good purchase, aside from that smell.

Love this bed—affordable and stylishI love this bed and am glad we bought it. We found it originally on Ashley furniture website, but it was backordered for weeks, but then I found it on here. I was a little wary of buying it since some said it was flimsy, but it seems quite solid. My husband and no issues putting it together. We bought a mattress and box springs (I prefer having box springs). I love the way it turned out and it was much cheaper than other beds out there (but doesn’t look cheap).

Good quality and heavyHeavy bedboards. I bought 2 beds for my oversized in -Laws . I bought 2 metal frames and put them inside of these beds. It worked really well. Even though the metal frames were taller than beds. I bought a bed skit and hid metal. The color is grey with tiny purple tint. Nothing special. I would not buy it if I saw it at the store. But Amazon delivers really fast and easy and I am happy with the quality.

Very nice.Just bought it. It’s a very solid piece of furniture. Easy to assemble. The fabric is very good quality. If I had one complaint it’s each side rail is two pieces that are held together with a metal plate rather than one long piece like in the picture. It works well with our adjustable bases. The headboard is very tall (which I like). FYI when you get it delivered all the pieces are inside the headboard, just unzip the backing.To all the bad reviews claiming this isn’t a platform bed. A platform bed just means it sits lower to the ground. You still need a box spring or bunkie boards to place your mattress on. So before you buy it, you DO need a box spring!!! Platform beds require them. Lots of unfair reviews due to people’s stupidity.

SMELL IS HORRIBLE!! DO NOT BUY!I generally don’t like to write negative reviews, but I am making an exception for this bed. Right out of the box, we noticed the smell…. I thought that I could give it some time to “air out” but even that didn’t help. Not sure what chemicals or products they used to build this bed, but they can’t be good if the smell is that bad. It is located in my 2 story bedroom which can get warm and that unfortunately exacerbated the smell into the rest of my property. The aroma is a mix between cat urine, smelly feet and a dead rat permeating my home… Can you smell the aroma now? Just hits me in the face upon entering my home!The fact that they actually sell these products to the public is simply inexcusable and I am super angry and irritated. I’ve wasted my time, money and energy purchasing and putting together this bed and also paid someone to help me with it.Do yourself a favor. DO NOT BUY THIS BED! Other reviewers mentioned the smell and I ignored the posts. Don’t make the same mistake I did!!!

LOVE IT!I had been eyeing this bed for a few weeks. Ordered it from a local furniture company for pick up, who then informed me it would be 8 weeks before it would ship! Found it on Amazon for just $20 more, but it would be delivered to my door in 2 days. Arrived promptly in pretty good condition, it’s big and heavy and awkward so there were some blemishes to the box. It was packed well inside, so no damage. It took me about 2 hours to get it put together and set up by myself. The instructions are crap, and some of the holes were a bit off, but with some common sense can be done. I’ve had it for a couple months now and I couldn’t be happier!

Great priceEasy to assemble. I looked at this bed frame at ashleyfurniture store over a year ago. Its gray not purple. Only thing is the side rails are two pieces not one like the photos for a king. Also I set a delivery time frame at 5pm they were here at 10am. We have a king with low profile foundation also platform slats just for extra support.
