Very nice ladder shelvesWe purchased these as part of an update to the look of out living room. I was a little hesitant to buy wood furniture from Amazon, but took a chance. When they arrived I immediately noticed how heavy the boxes were. Upon opening the boxes, the pieces were packed very well. No damage on either of the two we ordered. The finish was good as well. Once put together, they are very sturdy and look great. We are very pleased.

For box furniture, it’s fine. Better than alternatives we tried.Furniture in a box so don’t expect top of line. It’s looks nice enough though there are some minor flaws in the finish. One you figure out the orientation of the shelves to the legs, assembly is pretty easy. Certainly two pairs of hands would help but I did assemble it alone. Once assembled it’s solid. The sides (legs) are solid and one continuous piece per side. That means the box is rather large to accommodate the pieces that form the height of the case. Some of the cheaper alternatives come with half legs for more compact boxing. For those units the two half legs on each side slide together and they make a very wobbly structure. This isn’t. Its not furniture store quality and is priced accordingly. We got the saddle brown. I noticed the other colors were priced considerably higher. Also noticed a wide range of prices among 3rd party sellers. For a shelf unit in a box and the price we paid, I’m satisfied.

comes in a really big box but it’s packed really wellI recently purchased this ladder shelf. The UPS guy had to lug it up one flight of stairs for me (I live in a 2nd floor condo) and I’m so glad he did (I would have helped if I had known how big it was!). Anyway, the box it comes in is 6 1/2 feet long. It is very heavy – I think around 70 lbs. The pieces are packed very very well, which means everything was in good condition after shipping. All you have to do to put it together is attach the shelves to the side pieces. And there are extra screws and little knob things for the screw-hole covers. I used a little bit of hot glue on a few of the little knobs because they didn’t want to stay stuffed inside the hole. I don’t plan on moving this piece so I’m not worried about having to access the screws to re-tighten them. The shelf unit looks great in my home office.

Broken shelfThe whole unit is fine but the third shelf came broken in half. Not at all easy to put together.

It is perfect!I have been searching for a medium brown wood tone that is neither too red or yellow. This fits the bill. It is a true walnut/acorn color without underlying tones that pull warm. It is solid and construction was straightforward. It is solid but not a true hardwood. The edges of the frame can nick if you are not careful. Overall I am very pleased with the unit. I would definitely buy it again.

Looks great!Really pleased with this unit. I have it in front of a window in my kitchen/breakfast room area, and am using it mostly to hold cookbooks and plants. It’s very sturdy, easy to assemble, and color (distressed grey) is exactly as shown. Happy with the price as well.

Color could be betterShelves are perfect. the color isn’t white what I wanted but I kept it. I would have preferred a richer color. This is kind of dull brown.
