Wish I could give this 2. 5 stars…So first this item comes packaged in one heavy box. So the box came somewhat banged up. But inside the item was very well packaged. There was however some damage to pieces that comprise this desk . The desk is made of compressed wood that will easily dent if not handled carefully. There are also many many pieces to put together and many pieces of hardware. The desk pieces are well marked with letters on the raw edges of the pieces. The hardware is jumbled up in a few bags ..some numbered some not. Before you begin to put the desk together make sure to count all of the items you should have. Including the hardware. We were missing hardware and I called to get them to send me missing items.. I was told missing hardware takes about 3 to 5 day to receive and any parts of desk that are damaged that they will replace takes 10 to 12 days to receive. They were pleasant enough when I called.( do with that what you will.) the booklet with instructions for putting the desk together is difficult at first to work out but once you understand what they are representing in the diagrams it’s easier. The pieces of the desk are not always correctly drilled which made it more of a task to work out.( unless you have experience putting furniture together.) you will need a drill to fix some errors in the pieces. Pay very close attention to the details in the booklet because there is no explanation. The magnets to the doors aren’t very strong so that’s an issue I’m very unhappy about. There are minor dents and scratches that are in the wood that mar the desk. There is a design flaw which is ….if you attempt to move the desk by dragging it or pulling from desk top it will snap in two. Be very careful to place the desk where it will stay. I spent the money and my husband put some few hours into putting this desk together.. it wasn’t fun. The desk is pretty but hindsight is 20/20 I would have spent more for much less hassle.

Should have taken my time and looked further.I purchased 2 desks. There are so many pieces and because it is particle board, very heavy. My brother in law assembled them for me and I am so glad he helped me. He had to drill proper holes in one side of the supporting leg/shelf because the holes that were there did not align; for both units. There was damage to some of the edges but I will take a chalk pen and fill them in as these are too heavy for me to maneuver to return. They provide the storage and work space I need.

The BEST desk…EVER!!!This really is the BEST desk EVER!!! It came beautifully and intricately packaged. All the parts were there, even all of the small screws, pegs, etc. The instructions are VERY clear and easy to follow. You can tell that a lot of care was put into writing the directions (complete with pictures of every piece used and of every step). These are not some “made in China” directions that are in a million other languages, apart from English. This might be a pressed-wood, DIY construction item, but it looks like a showroom-quality piece!I like assembling furniture, so I found putting the desk together fun; like Legos. The whole piece is connected with those metal disks and metal pegs. Not sure of the correct terminology, but anyone who’s put furniture together will know what I mean. The metal disks set into pre-drilled holes then a peg is placed in another smaller whole in a corresponding piece. The two are fitted together and the metal disk is screwed into place to tighten the bond. Oh, and the doors are held closed by magnets. Very nice touch. The whole piece in general was very well designed and thought out. If I could design a desk for myself, it would be THIS desk!There were no damages to any of the pieces. The doors did come with the decorative grooves intact. The hardware is not cheap looking or flimsy. The middle drawer, on the metal gliders, is so smooth and sturdy and glides quietly. The actual desk surface is HUGE!!! I big upgrade for me. It’s great for spreading out work/homework papers next to your laptop or even spreading out an entire craft project. The height is perfect for standing at or sitting at and the leg room underneath is massive. I can really stretch my legs out. I could never do that before. The finish is also very pretty. It a matte/shiny finish.It may be a large desk for my space, but it doesn’t overpower the room with its presence. It’s large, but petite and contained. You will be blown away with all that you can fit onto all of the shelves and into all of the cubby spaces. I bought this desk because It’s like a desk and bookcase in one! I had a large vanity with 4 deep drawers. I never thought I’d find a desk that could hold everything that vanity did. However, this desk was perfect and can hold even more. I have room to spare. None of my belongings are crammed in either. I’m a bit of a neat freak so it’s nice to have a place for everything and everything in its place.I fell in love with the look and functionality of this desk from the moment I saw it on Amazon. I read the only review (at the time) about the doors missing the decorative grooves. I totally ignored that review because it was said that the company did send the replacement doors. That shows great integrity from a company. I knew I wouldn’t have any problems.I did have a little hiccup with my original order, to where I had to refuse delivery based on the package being compromised. But South Shore has been there for me every step of the way. They have very professional, understanding representatives that have been very prompt with emailing me and on top of my order and the replacement. It was their wonderful customer service that sold me on getting a dresser manufactured by them as well. South Shore has a winning system: a great support staff, an innovative, ingenious and practical design team, and a fantastic crew who lovingly constructs all of the pieces and expertly packages all of the parts. And most of all, they stand behind their products and truly care about their customers. They have a customer for life in me and I will happily spread the word to everyone I know about how wonderful their furniture and company is.

Very heavy deskUnfortunately we had several issues with this purchase. The quality of the product was fine however the box weighed about 125 lbs. The first one we received was damaged in shipping, we reached out to the manufacturer and they shipped a new one. It was damaged in shipping as well. Again we reached out to the company and advised at this point we wanted a refund. They refunded with no issues and told us just to keep the product. The issue was all in the shipping, for me, in the future I will shop local for furniture.

Ultimately a good table!I ordered and got this is 3 days – which rocked until we realized we were missing a part (at step 2) and had to call South Shore to get it. They were helpful, but to get the missing part they had to manufacture it (5 business days), then ship it (another 5 days). So two weeks later we finally were able to put the table together. It looks nice. Good storage. Wish it wasn’t such a chore to get new parts.

Excellent craft tableIt was too difficult for me to put together. I paid a ‘handyman’ to assemble it. The desk is very sturdy, lots of storage space underneath and a good size table to work on for any number of crafts. I am very pleased with this purchase. It meets all my needs.
