Elegand Home Fashion Anna Linen CabinetThis item is of pretty durable quality. It did arrive in very acceptable condition and went together rather easily for me. I know that there are some hard issues with the hong kong phooey instructions as they are very vague and pictures are never well defined, but for me personally on this one it wasn’t too tough to sort out. It is very durable and the back is coated and harder/sturdier than other products and goes on with marked holes with screws and the back insets into the wood and is a nice tight fit. The front door lined up very well, all holes pre-alligned and worked well and in line upon install. Top and bottom of the three shelves are adjustable and fit solidly with indent notches in the wood so they won’t slide around inside cabinet. I found it nice that it includes a few extra parts in another packet as I did use a few of them. I over tightened the cam locks on a couple of those and they broke apart, so a word on that is to be careful not to overturn them on install because they aren’t of the best of strength, a big down side on those to me as they should be strong. It goes together in two halves that cam locks the two halves together which makes the middle shelf unmovable. I actually bought this for the bedroom for beside dresser storage and it worked well with the color of it and the dresser I have, and good for those smaller items to store, books, or whatever. To me a worthwhile purchase and a fair price point that makes this item a go for me.

Pretty goodThe wood was a little scratched and the glass was dirty but it wasn’t super visible. One of the assembly parts didn’t stay right but I don’t think it was anything major enough to affect the structure. Nice display cabinet for my cars and my film cameras to not get dusty.

This old lady did it!I’m a 60 year old woman and I put this cabinet together by myself in a few hours. I’ve assembled many pieces of furniture in the past but nothing with this many pieces. I found a few problems though. One of the circular cam bolts snapped as I was trying to tighten it but thankfully this came with 1 spare bolt which I used. Next I found that the predrilled holes attached the door on the right side of the cabinet instead of the left side as instructions. Normally this wouldn’t cause a problem but now the preinstalled magnet is on the wrong side. What a headache. I found when completely finished it was sturdy thankfully.

Problematic, difficult, but acceptable finished productFinished product is ok, useable for me, but there were issues.The finish on the many different pieces vary in color a good bit, and the overall color is significantly darker than it appears in the photos. I would call it more of a dark cherry color, not honey oak as it looks online. It’s not as dark as walnut or espresso.The packaging is a mess, but I was expecting this. Lots of styrofoam sheets that tend to crumble, so tiny bits of styrofoam and little ‘fibers’ of it everywhere. You want to have a vacuum with you when you unpack.It is obviusly manufactured wood product, not real wood (there may be some real wood in some parts?), and parts of it look pretty cheap, but some parts, like the top and door, don’t look too bad. All pieces and parts were in the package, but there were also several extra loose screws in the box. Several ‘wood’ pieces were slightly damaged, though not enough to create a real problem (e.g., small chunks out of edge, but in the back, not visible, very small chunk out of front edge, etc.).The instructions are the worst I’ve ever seen for this kind of product. Mostly just a few terrible diagrams. It’s fairly complicated to put together, and instructions are poor at best and incorrect in some areas. Some of the steps were almost impossible to complete. You need a really short, but normal-sized head, screwdriver for some assembly. The cam locks didn’t always lock well– a couple fell out & when I tried to reinstall and tighten, it felt like something would break. The cam bolts screw into little plastic inserts that are preinstalled in holes, but a couple of those were messed up and I had to work on them a bit to make the bolts screw in. It took me several hours from start to finish, but I worked on it in between a few other things. It took 2 people to install the door. You might could do that with one if you did it with cabinet laying on floor, but it would still be tricky.The finished cabinet was a bit rickety, so we added a small strut to the back–just a thin piece of wood we nailed diagonally across the back, which helped a lot. The back is waxed cardboard, which is common for this type of thing, but I was surprised that the drawer bottom is also cardboard.In spite of the issues, the finished product is ok for what it is and for price I paid (140 with Prime shipping). I am using it in a fairly dark corner for DVDs and it looks ok.

Unless you are planning to use glue during assembly do not buy!Well first thing out the box, nothing was broken or scratched, although poorly packed with flimsy styrofoam. The wood frame on glass door was separated at a mitered corner because it was not glued during manufacture. I had to glue it. Recommend using silicone caulk to secure loose glass in door. The metal camlocks are junk metal that break with very little screwdriver pressure. Go lightly and glue all joints during assembly. The parts bag, instructions and wood veneer finish were pretty good. The final assembled cabinet looks pretty good but any credit goes to whoever gives it tlc during assembly. I would have returned it had I not been able to repair the door and use glue to keep it together. Gorilla glue worked well!

Way too close to the floor It’s almost like no legsDrawer position is not practical. I measured all kinds of cabinets in my house. Their legs are at least 3 to 4 inches from the floor. This one is less than 2 inches and you need to pull out the drawer straight. You need to be on your knees to be able to do that.

Genuinely ImpressedI was nervous after reading the reviews, but I think maybe those other customers got a bad batch or something. Is this hand crafted, show quality furniture? No. But I paid $120 for it, and honestly feel that it should be priced higher. It’s a good, sturdy piece that was easy to assemble. Every piece was clearly labeled and the directions were easy to follow. I used a drill, but you could easily use a screwdriver instead. Another thing that I appreciate about it is the thickness of the backboard. A lot of mdf type furniture comes with a crappy, flimsy cardboard back panel that you nail into the furniture. I’m not sure what the back of this is made of, and while it’s not super thick, it is significantly sturdier than other furniture. It even comes with screws instead of nails to attach it! Overall I’m very pleased with this purchase and would definitely recommend it.
