Nice, but FlawedThis sleeper sofa arrived in one flat package. The legs were cleverly zipped into the back or underside of the upholstered surface. You unzip to take them out and then unzip the other side to attach them with nuts in the back, under the upholstery, holding the legs firmly in place. Assembly was quick and easy. Most sleep sofas come with springs and a mattress tucked inside. You just remove the pillows and pull out the mattress with springs. This one has a different concept. You move it away from the wall and pull the back of the couch forward enough to release the catch. The back then falls back to form a single flat surface with the seat. Other sofa beds have flimsy springs and thin mattresses and are, therefore, uncomfortable. Here the bed is the seat and back of the sofa; they are firm and quite comfortable. The upholstery is a nice imitation leather. It is not clear in the picture, but the threads that divide the surfaces into square sections are red. So, the sofa is casual, but attractive. The flaw here is the sizing. The measurements posted on Amazon are not correct. The length is a little under 70 inches. The height from the floor to the top of back is 30 inches and, importantly though not listed on Amazon, the height of the top of the seat from the floor is barely over a foot. The other sofas I have are 16-19 inches off the floor. This means that this sofa is low. It is comfortable to sit, but getting in and out takes a little more doing and if you are tall, you will notice that your knees are elevated. At 5’8″ I can sleep comfortably on this sofa. If I were a couple of inches taller, it would not be comfortable. The back legs have a bit of soft tape on their bottoms, presumably to protect floors and carpets. They came off immediately. Finally, the sofa comes with a note saying that it contains cadmium, a substance known to the state of California to cause cancer. There is no way to know what this means. Will I be at risk by sitting, clothed, on the sofa? Or would I have to nibble at the upholstery? Or, even worse, is the sofa releasing toxic fumes that put my family and guests at risk? Do all sofas have cadmium or only this one? Meaningless warnings like this one do a lot to reduce public safety. In sum, this is an attractive sofa that is so comfortable to sit on and sleep on that it may induce your guests to stay longer, but only if they are short and survive the cadmium.

Not particularly comfortablePros:With a little soft padding, this does function as a relatively comfortable bed for one person or two childrenYou can get three adults or four kids lined up in a row using this as a sofa instead of a bedCons:Not very padded, so as a sofa, this unit provides minimal comfortThe material rips easily – my dog jumped up on the sofa to look out the window and his claw ripped into the materialOverall this is an economical choice for the dual functions. If you don’t have large pets and plan to put throw pillows and or soft blankets down for some extra padding it might work well for the budget conscious.

Beautiful and functional! This was exactly what I was looking for, I love it! We have a wall with an incredible view of a mountain but it’s next to the fireplace under a window, hard to find something to fill this space. I didn’t want anything obstructing the window, it had to be long but short in height to see out of the window beside it. This fit all those requests, it came right up to the sill, it’s low enough I can clearly see the view and it fits the space perfectly. it’s comfortable to sit on and lays flat for sleeping when you pull it away from the wall. I love to lay on this while reading and just gazing out at the mountains! I love the red thread even though my color is orange it worked well. It fit into my mid century modern home. It was super easy to put the legs on, took 5 minutes without the instructions. The legs are underneath inside the zippered compartment. This came freight in a smaller van to get up mountain driveways with no issues. It comes in a flat box. I absolutely love the look and versatility of this daybed. It’s well made and very functional. I’m 5’9” and I can sleep on this without hanging off the end. Great for unexpected guests when you need an extra bed. I would definitely recommend this beautiful daybed!
